Waaaaay better than trowel and hawk. They make cheaper ones but make sure you get one like this or better. Top brands will go for $200+ but this one gets it done and makes the corners look 100% better than trowel. Straighter, sharper, flatter, crisper, and saves an enormous amount of time which makes you more $$$. Worth its wieght in gold. Takes your game to a much higher and much more professional level all while saving you soooo much time. Literally turns a 5min trowel bedding task into a 5 SECOND roller task. For what it does and all the time saved for $100 i am pleased, only bad part is this corner roller can be very difficult to clean thoroghly and it NEEDS to be cleaned 100% thoroghly or it should not be used
