Did the the job effectively.
Have not left a review in a long time on any amazon purchases. I have left this review, as I was hesitant in buying a relatively cheap tool compared to Laser Tools which are excellent tools and do the task well, day in, and day out in the garage. but also expensive for a one off job to do at home. I read the mixed reviews and bought it and the tool did the the task effectively and quickly. as long as you watch any video on Youtube on this tool, you to take care in the extraction and installation when using this tool, it will work as described. For clarity, I paid for this tool with my own money and have not sponsored by the seller or tool maker.

Works and is sensibly priced.
It works. This was the second of these types I bought. I didn’t notice the first (different one) didn’t have the screw bearing and the legs bent before the wheel bearing shifted. This one has and worked fine.It seems it’s “returned a lot” as people do the once in a blue moon job then return. It worked well and is vastly less expensive than the branded versions (I’m sure they’d be better for non-DIY roles though).

Faulty machining made it useless
We are sorry we had to return this item but feel we should offer a full description of our reason for return as follows:We opened the bearing fitting kit which was well packaged and with no signs of damage. We had our car ready and with wheels and brakes removed etc. ready to fit the bearings with the kit.We prepared and assembled the bearing and kit and started to tighten the threaded centre shaft to pull the bearing hub free. After several turns by hand the threaded bar locked up solid and we could not rotate it any further. It was not under tension at this point only hand tight. We dismantled the whole thing and tried to thread the nut supplied down the shaft.Upon reaching about half way down the threaded bar with the nut supplied it locked up solid. There was a fault with the thread on the bar which was preventing the nut travelling the full length of the bar. This meant we could not gain full travel when trying to pull out the bearing on the car. This is a manufacturing fault with the thread and not something we had done as we had not applied any tension at this stage due to the lack of travel. As we had the car up on stands and in pieces and also on a Sunday, we decided to try and rectify the problem by inspecting the thread and to see if we could clear the defect ourselves. We could see some bad machining within the thread and lightly filed it to try and get the nut to pass over the bad thread section. We could not and again the nut seized up.We tried reversing the nut and again it seized. We put the bar in a vice and applied some force to try and get the nut over the bad section but it was locking up solid every time right in the middle of the bar. After 3 hours of trying we decided in desperation to utilise what thread we had available and also use some spacers to allow us to do the job. This made the job very awkward and time consuming as well as dangerous. We worked into the night to get the job done. This tool was useless due to the bad thread section and that is down to bad manufacturing so I’m sorry but even though we used the kit I would not attempt to use it again. We are returning for a refund and next time I will source from a reputable manufacturer.

Great tool that made the job simple
Great tool, it made the bearing assembly so easy to remove and installation of the new one was equally easy too.

Does its job
Skoda Fabia vrs front driverside wheelbearing removed old 1 and replaced with new 1.. a few youtube videos as guidance. In my area mechanics charge £50 todo the same job but now i can do both front for £65 inc. next day delivery and only took me 45mins todo the job. Slow and steady.. using only breaker bars and hand ratchets only..
