A must read for any yogi
I was given a list of 5 required books for my upcoming yoga teacher training program. I started perusing through the other four but then I picked up this one and couldn't put it down. So interesting, so well-written, such fascinating people. A huge amount of knowledge being shared. You can tell it's written with love and respect. Lots of photos as well. This is a must for any yogi and will certainly become a treasured part of my collection.

Great book to read as a beginner of Yoga
This is our Yoga book club book! Easy, though very dense and interesting read about the roots of Yoga.As a beginner of my 'spiritual' journey, I truly enjoyed reading this book from page 1 to the end.

God is the Answer
This is a biography of a great healer and yoga teacher. As I finished reading this book, I had a deep appreciation for Krishnamacharya and the life he had created. If you are looking for techniques, methods, or practices; you will find none in this book. After all is said and done, there is one thing that stood out for me, and that is when Krishnamacharya answered a question at a seminar, from one of his students. The question was : " Upon what should we Meditate ?" His answer was "Ishvara Pranidhana" (GOD) !

Bellissimo libro

Krishnamacharya - an inspiration for yoga teachers and students
I have read many, many books on various aspects of the yoga practice, and this ranks among the very best. My main practice is Ashtanga Vinyasa, and I was very inspired to learn more about Sri T. Krishnamacharya, who was the teacher of Pattabhi Jois and BKS Iyengar. This great and exemplary yogi is such a deep inspiration for me in my own teaching! I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

A very touching story
If you are a teacher of the Krisnamacharya tradition, this book is a valuable tool to understand where the teaching comes from. A very touching story of a father's life as seen by his son.

A must for all serious Yoga students & Yoga teachers.
What a wonderful book! The idea that Yoga is only accessible to the accomplished practitioners on the front cover of modern Yoga magazines is quickly dispelled as we read that it in actual fact "India's greatest gift to humanity". In it we are not only reminded of Yoga's vast benefits to all of mankind but above all we get a glimpse of Yoga's most influential teacher in the modern age, Krishnamacharya, through the loving, respectful eyes of his son, T.K.V Desikachar. And what an amazing man he was! Without his courage, passion & dedication for the path of Yoga the modern Yoga story would be a completely different one. Had he not carried out his Guru's wishes of teaching and ultimately transforming the practice to suit his times we might not even be interested in reading such books today! It was such an inspiring book that I'm going to read it through several times.
