Much better tones live
This may be long, FYI.I came from using a certain "sponsor-all-drummers" brand, and this whole line of cymbals is so much better sounding!I started using S brand any years ago and just loved their sound. After taking a long hiatus from drums, I came back and used a certain A model, and liked the tone, but did not fully LOVE the playing experience. After a couple years of those, I figured I would try something new and more "under-dog". Boy, was that a mistake.I thought I could come to like their cymbals, and being that the model line was recommended to me for the style of music, I thought maybe I would learn to like them.Nope! After a year, 2 of their cymbals cracked, and they would not warranty them. I bought 2 more at their supposed Artist Pricing, and those cracked as well.Let me tell you, I am not that hard on my cymbals. Heck, the A model cymbals I started with, with exception to 1, are all still clean and playable after 5 years! So, fast forward to now, well, a couple months ago.I was going to try a different brand again, more set on finding that sound and tone I was looking for. Slightly dark, but still able to cut above loud guitars and some thrashing.I found this cymbal, 19", and was at first skeptical due to the coloring and look.I. Was. Shook! This ONE cymbal was able to clearly be heard over the loud distorted guitar and thundering bass, but not so much so that I was standing out like an elephant in a mine field. The playability, feel, sound and inflection was miles above the previous brands. And this is ONE cymbal!I have now switched all but 2 splashes to the Classic Dark series, and I could not be more pleased! Even my band members are complimenting me on the sound of these cymbals. Now, are these cymbals going to work with every style and genre of music? Probably not, but, if you want a dark under tone and crisp attack with decent decay, try these out!

Beautiful, dark, loud, washy like a thunderstorm
This lineup of cymbals are most importantly a great value for the money. They also look incredible and will impress your friends. Dark is sort of misleading.. Though the tonal quality might be a smidge dark and washy, these cymbals are loud.. Like really loud to the point I have to hit them with quite a bit less force.. I guess that could be a pro and a con. I look forward to getting my dark 22* ride but those are the only cymbals I'd purchase from this line

Product great, Amazon packaging, appalling!
The cymbal is perfect, but I knew that before I purchased it. What I didn't know/expect was that Amazon was going to remove it from its original packaging (containing the protective padding/rigidity) and place it (along with my 20") in a flimsy, weak, poorly-sealed folding box. I'm amazed they got here in one piece without severe damage. There was however impact damage along the tapered edge. That is significant if you want true resonance.Great job Meinl! Amazon, get it together.

Good But Not Great
For the price it's a good cymbal. I am recording, looking for cymbals that don't have long, unpleasant mid- and low-frequency overtones that go on forever, like this one. If you are hitting the cymbal it might not matter, if you're not recording, but in studio I prefer not to record the overtones after the hits. Unfortunately, this is considered a good quality cymbal, so to really get good studio cymbals you'll have to buy used or spend more money. While all cymbals sound unique, all one of a kind, I've found the unpleasant, long-lasting overtones fairly consistent with mid-level Meinl cymbals.

Great sound at a great price
Sounds better in person than the videos. Great price for the sound.

Get some good earplugs!
This is the loudest cymbal I've ever heard. It's got an incredibly dark tone while still being able to cut through guitar and everything else going on. The sound is really well suited for metal or other heavy genres of music, and that's really it. If you play music like that, then this cymbal is totally worth the money.

Dark tones great crash
For any drummer that wants a little darker cymbal they sound amazing they don't ring out like a brilliant finish, I love the look and pair them up together they all sound great.
