Good value on a hard-to-find whole grain
I'm thrilled to have access to this affordable product. No rancid smell, no trace of bugs...Just fresh, clean barley. I used to use pearl barley, which I like better than rice. But this hulled is even more nutritious, has more fiber, and takes only a little longer to cook. To me, it tastes more interesting than pearl barley. I cook a big pot of this hulled barley and freeze smaller bags.

Very happy with my barley
Very happy with my barley. I rinsed it and let it soak for a few hours with a dash of baking soda and salt. Couldn't wait to make some mushroom barley soup. Came out great. Next was lentil barley soup made with lentils from the same seller. My wife's happy because it's organic. Love the texture of barley.

Super healthy and delicious
I try to eat a whole food, plant based diet as often and as much as I can. I really try to get the healthiest choices - brown rice over white...steel cut or whole oats over instant...sweet potatoes over white. I make soup a lot and love barley. But all I could get at the store was Quaker quick barley, which has been stripped of the most essential fiber and nutrition in order to make it cook in 10 min. So of course I check Amazon. This barley is stupendous. Unlike rice, you don't have to measure it and the water to achieve perfect absorption. I cook a cup or two of barley in water in my big stock pot, covered/simmer for 50 min., then drain into a colander. I add what I want to my soup or stew and store the rest in an airtight container in the fridge. I use it during the week with stir fries and other dishes. I often take it with a cooked, cut up sweet potato for my lunch at work. I store my barley in an big, old oats container. I'm so glad Amazon makes eating healthfully possible.

Organic Protein and Fiber
High quality organic product. Great way to get organic protein and fiber. I eat it most days and have noticed a positive difference in regularity.Highly recommend.Cook it in a rice cooker, 1 cup barley and 2 cups of water on the brown rice setting, just add honey.

control of quality of product and no living creatures in Barley.
once I received Barley, I made it in a meal. Then stored in a glass sealed container. Three more meals in two weeks, and good taste and quality. It stat till today 2/4/24 and when opened it had a web over the Barley. Found worm inside dead, but not before living in Barley.

Bought by accident
Ended up roasting some and works well as a toss on for oatmeal and yogurt. Gives some crunch
