Fits perfect, good product so far
I like how I don’t have to reach into my center consul to get my sunglasses any longer. This makes it so much easier. The plastic seems to be a good quality. The fit looks OEM. Fortunately, my Gargoyle sunglasses do fit but I don’t think my Oakley’s will.My only complaint was the video instructions. After removal of the handle, the video shows that you should put your screwdriver into the area where the clips are, but really, this is just showing how you would be placing the screwdriver to take the handle out. You do not need the clips from the handle to install the container. Once I figure this out, installation was a breeze.I also had to bend the new clips slightly so that there would be enough tension to hold it in place, but this was not really a big deal.

It looks stock
The holder looks stock, matching the gray lining color. It is easier to install than it is to remove the original handle. Quality material, the interior is soft lined to protect the glasses, and I think it adds to avoid vibrations. I am picky with this, but there is no rattling even with thin metallic frame sunglasses. If I need to pick something, it includes exactly two threaded brackets and two screws for them. It would be nice to have three of them just in case, as threads may fail, and if it comes with any defect you have no way of installing it. But that would be a complete extra, nice to have.A great product overall. It might as well be a factory accesory.

Small but looks good and works well
The holder fits very well in place of the original grab handle and the quality looks OEM. The pouch is small and would be best for small sunglasses, not aviators or anything that size.Installation was incredibly easy but removing the factory grab handle was tricky. You have to pry off the mounting covers and then use a flathead screwdriver to pry the metal retaining clip open while pulling the handle away from the roof so that the clip no longer grips inside the roof structure. The metal clip is strong so prying it open takes a bit of strength.

Fixes BMW's mistake
OK, I get BMW's reticence to put cup holders in their cars. Germans just think you shouldn't be eating or drinking while driving. Not our thing here in the states, but hey, I get it. But... sunglasses? Look... I've been to Germany. Even there the sun shines SOMETIMES. So nowhere to put your specs? Seriously??I installed this at 4:30 in the morning (miiiiight have forgotten to do it the night before), and it took all of 5 minutes. The install video is spot-on. If you have an angled tool to pull the handle like the one in the video, use it. If not, a small flathead will get the job done. My wife didn't even notice it in the car... looks completely stock, and holds my WileyX frames almost perfectly. Like others have mentioned, though, it won't hold those crazy bug-eye glasses. One of my favorite mods to the F30 so far.

Looks great. Worked well until it broke.
A bit tricky to install as you need a pry tool and some finesse to get the original handle off. Fits perfectly in my F30. Had it for about 4 months and a piece broke off and flew across my car the other day when I pulled it open. (I didn't pull forcefully or abruptly) Now it won't close at all and is just hanging wide open above my head. I'm guessing it was the mechanism that engaged the spring action. Really liked it until it broke.

Great solution for the lack of sunglassses holder in my husband’s bmw
My husband kept complaining that he didn’t know why there wasn’t a sunglasses holder in his new car so I googled “sunglasses holder for bmw” and this product came up. I ordered one right away! We were so excited to install it but struggled trying to remove the handle. All the videos we could find weren’t really clear on what you were actually trying to accomplish when shoving in the screwdrivers. I’m still not sure how I ended up getting the handle off but I did and the rest was easy. Just pop in the two metal clips into the holes and then screw the holder to the clip. Highly recommend this product, looks like it came with the car

Nice but shallow!
A little finicky to install but once you figure it out it is a snap. Great idea, great design, great feel, but... needs to be deeeeeper! These will not accommodate Oakleys (one of the most common brands and designs), for example. If they made this with better function in-mind it would easily be a five-star product.

Worth it
This was kind of a pain to install, but well worth it. The install video implied the mounting plastic bits should have had a sticky backing, but they didn't.. I dunno.Anyways, once I figured out a way to install it, it's sturdy as all get-out, and fits my sunglasses like a charm. The texture is soft-touch plastic which gives a high quality feel, and there's some padding on the inside where the lenses rest. The black color matches the interior well. This is the best place to put your shades.[2010 328i]
