Just do it. Also check which ohms your stock speaker is
Wow what a difference this made. I had a crate amp that was always crackling and sounded bad anytime I turned the volume past 5 with any distortion or effects . It's always been this way when it was brand new. After replacing it with this jenson speaker it sounds amazing! No crackling, no popping just clean crisp sounds. I was contemplating even buying a new amp but I no longer need to do it after this upgrade.

just what the amp needed
i installed this speaker in my crate ,yes crate,mx15-r and it made quite the difference. whatever bass end flubbiness that amp had before has left the building. the reverb has gotten a little more wetter. most of all there is a clarity in the tone.- i have chosen wisely

A nice upgrade
The media could not be loaded. Hi all!I upgraded two of my Fender amps with this speaker. Fender Front man 15g and Mustang Lt 25.Observations: The magnet is much stronger compared to the original speakers but about the same size. comparing the original speakers the weight is noticeable for the Jensen heaver and with a more sturdy cone bracket, the cone material is similar for the mustang (the stepped cone in the pictures).Fender Front man 15g, this came with my Squire set and it always sounded harsh to me but I am a new guitarist so assumed it was me.The sound: I put this speaker in and the sound is much fuller and smooth? It sounds much better. The swap: This was an easy swap the leads were the same size and 7mm socket for the nuts in and out 5 min.Mustang Lt25, I have a harder time telling a difference with this amp.The sound: There was not a OMG difference with this upgrade. Is it because it is a modding amp I cannot say.The swap: Beware if doing this swap the ( - ) Negative side is narrow arrange for a replacement female connector before the swap begins. when removing the back panel the pug wires are secured to the side board leaving a short amount of slack unscrew the bracket to get more slack. The lead to the speaker has a quick disconnect for easy changing of the connector.

Before you buy have a look at the spade connectors on your stock Turbosound speaker. On mine the positive connection was a normal full size spade but on the negative it was a smaller spade. This Jensen comes with two standard size "large" spade connections so it won't connect right out of the box, which leaves you with a couple of options... buy some spade and modify the existing cable or purchase an aftermarket cable. Fender sells a cable that's exactly what you need and is just long enough to work (search: Fender replacement internal speaker cable). For my ear this speaker is exactly what the Bugera needed. The stock Turbosound speaker has been described to me as "dark", but I think a more accurate way to describe it is "flat." Being on the warm end of the spectrum is fine but compared to this Jensen, even right out of the box and not yet broken in, it feels kinda mushy.Other reviewers have stated that the Jensen is really bright, and that's true if you keep the tone knobs dimed and you're playing something like a Jazzmaster (what I have) or a Strat. But unlike the stock speaker that needed the tone cranked up with littler room for adjustment, the Jensen can be pulled back a lot. The tone knob set at noon on both the guitar and the amp still sounds nice and clear but it leaves you with the option to break out the ice picks if you like. If you're willing to work the tone knobs this is a great speaker.

Opened up a Orange crush 20rt
Relace an 8 ohm 8-inch Orange "voice of the world" white lable stock speaker in a sealed 8" combo from Orange, the Crush 20rt. Previously there was a stuffy/boxy tone that managed to reflect out from the stock speaker. The jensen c8r-8 seems to have tamed that at moderate/bedroom volumes. Addionaly, the stock tone was a more modern mid and bass heavy, with a little something missing from the detail/headroom. This is a solid state amp, and the dirty channel got muddy fast, and at low volume. The Jensen cleaned up the clean channel, and made the gain range of the dirty side more controlled. I can now have articulation and fuzz. I'd put the new tone closer to ac-15 on the clean channel with my telecaster (s.d. 5-2 pickups), and dirt can be dialed from bassman/jcm-45ish, to something approaching a fuzzed out mesa on humbuckers (fender player strat dual humbuckers with coil split). In short, the jensen saved this amp for me. I'll continue to play it now, after having replaced it previously with a Vox valvetronix vt40+. Now considering the Jensen mod 10" for that amp. (Other amps include superchamp x2 head on a hrd 1x12 cabinet with celestion 70-80, and a vintage blackface bandmaster/bassman head on a 2x12" bandmaster cabinet.) This C8r-8 put my little orange back in familiar tone territory for me without the typical scooped mids of a classic fender. Nice speaker.

Tone for days.
I was very impressed with this speaker. I purchased it without ever hearing one in person. I liked the low sensitivity because I figured it would be quieter than my other speakers. The sound is incredible and it hasn't been broken in yet. So I expect it to get even better

Nice replacement but ...
I used this to replace the speaker in my orange crush 25. I had to drill new holes but since it has a bigger magnet i thought it worth a shot. The speaker is super bright for me. It did resolve the muddy issue of the stock speaker. It didn't get as much bass as i was hoping but after messing with the EQ i have to admit the speaker sounds better than the stock orange speaker.
