wasted 15 bucks
UPD: as of Oct 2015, they changed everything in the recipe (or the manufacturer, dunno) and these Oreshki are absolutely tasteless:( Wasted money.Old review: Pricy, but...tastiest version of this treat I have tried! Very fresh, a bit crispy and overall very good quality. Spasibo, ochen poradovali!!!

Really great and authentic Russian treat!
Wife and in-laws really loved these over the holidays. They reminded them of back home in Russia. Will definitely buy again.

Not as good as Gourmet Market
This one is not horrible, but it lacks an element of flavoring that Gourmet Market offers.Oreshki seem normally creamier. I am fair and do not expect to get a replica of my childhood, but I still expect more flavor, even when it diverges from the original.I do not feel like I got enough flavor based on Oreshki standards or from the position of a common dessert lover. As for packaging, other than the shipping box, these did come in a plastic disposable container that is handy where the others we've ordered, though a bit better, only came in a plastic bag that you couldn't easily reclose.

Stale, expensive mess
The seller packs these oreshki by chucking them loose into plastic clamshell containers. I bought 2 units because I wanted to give some to friends, excited to have them try my favorite Russian cookie--but by the time they arrived through the mail, they were a smashed wreck."At least they'll taste good," I figured when I first saw them. But the oreshki shells, which should be crispy, shortbread-like pastry, are instead some soft, cheap...I have no idea what. It's not oreshki shell. Whatever it is, it's very stale, with that washed out, watery taste with a hint of mildew at the end. The filling was okay, but without a firm (and tasty) shell to contrast with, even that is like trying to eat sugary glue.Nobody I gave these to finished a single one. And I don't blame them, because neither did I. I live in a rural area and returning anything is a massive hassle, so I don't generally order things by mail unless I'm pretty confident it'll work out. But I really missed oreshki, and I didn't think they were really something that someone could mess up; it seemed worth chancing. This will be the last time I take a chance on anything for a while, I think.Overall, just a completely insane asking price for what arrives. I don't usually review things unless I have something nice to say, but if I could give this listing negative stars, I would.

Excellent Excellent Excellent
These are great. A few came broken which I did not understand as it was packaged great but the USPS probably ran over it with a truck or something.Reminds me of the ones I had as a kid and let me tell you, they did not last long in my house. Everyone loved them!

Buy cookies from a store
This is how they arrived. I was expecting cute walnut shaped cookies that I have bought from a Ukrainian baker in Birmingham, Alabama. These tasted like preservatives and were not good. They were nearly all crumbled. They were not fresh. I had no idea they would arrive like this- taped up.

Wasn't impressed
Overall it's a great cookie and it was a hit. Personally I wasn't impressed. Bought these cause I didn't want to make them. I'm from Perm, Russian and mom made this as a treat. For me the cookie was over cooked and condensed milk was to caramelized and almost burnt. Recommended but not for me, I'll make my own.
