and I can't imagine who else would be really comfortable on a 14
Another miracle device! I've found 3 on Amazon in the past few months. With the toilevator I am truly enthroned!Unlike a lot of grateful reviewers, I'm not tall: maybe 5'6" in my thick-soled orthopaedic shoes. I'm also not a child, and I can't imagine who else would be really comfortable on a 14.5" toilet. I wasn't when I was in my 30's. At this point, I'm ten months post hip replacement, and five months post knee replacement. Next up will be a tendon transplant in my ankle and another knee replacement, probably. I've got crumbling discs between multiple vertebrae, and my thumbs are retreating into my palms. I do NOT need to lower myself onto or push or pull myself off a "standard" height toilet. Husband installed a couple of those seat risers, but cleaning requires far too much deconstruction, so didn't get done as often as it should have been. Even the supposedly ADA compliant toilet (17.5" with the seat) we installed 4 or 5 years ago was too low after the hip surgery.Husband the plumber said the Toilevator was a cinch to install. The supply hose included worked just fine. It is stable as heqq, and as a bonus, covers broken bits of tile that had accumulated over the years. My knees are lower than my hips, which is almost relaxing. Best of all, sitting down and getting takes very little effort, and strains nothing. My arthritic parts and the not-quite-healed bionic ones thank the manufacturer of the toilevator.

Wonderful Alternative to buying a new $600 Toilet
I could not be happier with this product. The base is much sturdier than I had expected and it arrived 2 days early. My husband and I did installation ourselves but I would not of been able to do alone. From beginning to end it did take us a couple of hours. The hardest part for us was removing the old sealant from the floor. I had to use a butter knife, Goo Gone and some SOS pads to get the floor smooth - that part alone took about 45 minutes. The base is adjustable so you you can position your toilet on top of it and have almost no ledge up front or turn base around and have 2-4 inch overhang up front. There are a couple of youtube videos on the installation as well. Overall it was pretty easy with two people. Only issue were the screws are to long for our toilet so we are going to have to saw them off in order to get the white caps to go over. Our kit DID include a water line extension. Last thing I need to do it paint the base to match toilet - but not sure if I will ever get around to that

It changed my life!
The Toilevator did raise my toilet 3.5 inches, which was just what I needed. I am in a wheelchair 24/7 so getting on and off the toilet is necessary several times a day (and night). I have long legs, so my chair is quite high off the ground which made it nearly impossible to transfer up to it each time. The Toilevator raised the seat up and now my problems are over. The only drawback is my legs barely touch the ground when sitting, so shorter people may have a problem. I didn't want an ugly thick toilet seat, so this solved the problem. My husband installed it and he says it takes some know-how and the toilet needs to be lifted two or three times. If you are not handy, you may need a plumber. However, it is a great product and doesn't look too bad either.

So glad I found this product
My brother, who is disabled, uses the half-bath quite a bit since it is easier for him to access. Unfortunately, his physical condition has been deteriorating and this is the third toilet in in over a year that has needed to be replaced or reset. I really dreaded the thought of one of those thick plastic seats in the powder room that company uses! I had a plumber install the Toilevator since the flange needed to be repaired anyway. The plumber had never seen this product before and was pretty impressed with how easy it was to install and what a great idea it was. As you can see from the photo, until you sit down (and, for some of us, realize your feet are dangling:)) it's barely noticeable. My brother is really pleased and says it makes it so much easier for him. Hopefully this means no more slamming down and struggling to get up for him and no more broken or wobbly toilets!. I plan on installing this in his master bath as well!

Terrific Post hip replacement solution
My husband and I have both had hip replacements and have been using a 5" seat riser. The riser has been great but it had to be cleaned regularly in addition to the toilet. My daughter-in-law offered to install a couple of higher toilets, I started shopping and found these platforms. They were easy to install and far less expensive than new toilets. In addition, my husband is a big guy - 6'1" and 250# - and he's been impressed and the strength and stability of the platform. Everything was included in the box so no hardware store trips were needed. Very pleased and highly recommend. (An added bonus: if we move, we can take these with us!!) The one downside is for small children. We didn't get a step stool into the bathroom before our mostly potty trained granddaughter had a small accident when she tried to get up on the higher toilet. Poor baby!!

This is a major safety upgrade for anyone with limited mobility.
This item did exactly what I needed it to do. It complemented some other mods I made for my own safety now that I am an amputee. I read in another review that this did not fit Home Depot toilets, so I purchased this one plus a Grande model. The toilet I purchased was a standard Glacier Bay Elongated model from HD. This standard model fit perfectly and I returned the Grande model. The toilet was outfitted with a Kohler Bidet seat and a set of self standing safety bars. The seat measures about 19 inches off the floor because I chose a 17 inch toilet. They recommend a 14 to 15 inch model. I prefer it this way. I do not have to bend down much to sit down which makes it easier and safer to get up. I am an amputee.

bathroom
got it to raise up our toilets off the floor and our bathroom. It works great. It’s cheaper than buying a brand new hire toilet.
