STAR BRITE081216 Starbrite Teak Care Kit Pint

I bought this to refinish the acacia wood adirondack furniture on my screened porch. I also had to use some of the mold and mildew cleaner, they were in rough shape, but the cleaner and brightener made the whole process much easier. I took everything apart and sanded it all down as well. I ended up applying 3-4+ coats of oil...I guess my furniture was very thirsty...but the end result is beautiful. I'm in Florida so it gets a lot of sun and rain, we'll see how it holds up. I did have to buy much more than I thought I needed, but so far I can highly recommend this stuff!

Definitely recommend. Pretty easy to use, and it made the swim platform on my boat look like new. It took almost all of the cleaner, 1/2 of the brightener, and about an 1/8 of the oil, so I'll have to order more cleaner next spring, but should get 2-3 uses out of the brightener, and at least 4 or 5 uses out of the oil.

I saved 2 very neglected, grey, weather-worn teak chairs from a trip to landfill. At first look I nearly passed on them but figured I'd give them a quick wash and see if they had any potential. I started by power washing them. The "wet look" gave me hope and, once dry, I proceeded to sand them with my palm sander. They looked so good I decided to take the next step and order the kit. I used the cleaner and brightener using stainless steel wool as per the instructions and, in the areas I had not sanded well, it did make a difference, but I can't say the results were particularly noticeable, in fairness I did not put in a whole lot of effort either. The icing on the cake was the teak oil, it really brought out the deep rich color of the wood and, 3 months later, they still bead when wet and have the wet look.Note that in this kit you get a pint of each "flavor". The cleaner and brightener were enough for my 2 already prepped chairs, but if starting from scratch I bet you would need a pint for each chair. Since they were so dry from years of neglect each chair required a full pint of teak oil; I gave each chair 3 liberal coats, allowing them to dry between coats.Since I was in the middle of the project when I realized I would need more I ran down to the local ACE hardware to buy more oil, it was competitively priced compared to amazon and came in 32 oz. sizes. I don't know how this oil compares to other brands, but as it's a commodity I doubt one brand of oil is much different than another.

I bought an old teak table and 4 chairs that had been stored in a barn for many years. It had some graying, weathered appearance and some mold and cleaner did a good job. I had to put some effort into scrubbing off the mold but product worked much much better than my 1st attempt with dish soap etc. The pictures on the front do show how each step will lead to improved appearance. The amount was enough for 4 chairs and table

Product was easy to use. Cleaner had a mild smell. Brightened and oil had stronger smells. I only used a nylon scrub brush and 1 & 0 steel wool. I would have had better results if I had sanded. Regardless, I am pleased with the results. Took me 3.5 hours not including drying time.

Package came with the box is fine but one bottle was open and leaked.

Bought this for an 18 year old mahogany bench which was in good condition - as it had always been under an overhang - but was dirty and had greyed over the years.Star Brite worked wonderfully. The first cleaner I applied with a sponge brush then used a scrub brush to remove dirt and grunge. Hosed off then used the brightener - which I also applied with a sponge brush. The bench looked amazing at this point. I probably didn't even need the oil. But, the oil made the mahogany look much richer and left no residue. I thought the oil might be a problem and leave marks on clothing - but no - it all absorbed into the wood. I applied the oil with a soft cloth. In a couple of locations I needed to apply more and any excess was easily removed with a dry cloth.I would say that the three product kit will be enough to use on my 6' long bench at least two more times! I am delighted with this product - and no bad smells or negative comments about any of the three applications.
