Works on nitrocellulose finishes
Bought this because it claimed to remove stains and minor scratches from nitrocellulose laquer. I used it on my 30 year old Les Paul Classic Plus with heritage cherry sunburst finish. I can happily say that it works as advertised. The cleaner removed stains that nothing else would and also removed almost all scratches. The polish then shined it up until it looked showroom new. Pricey but does work. Highly recommend.

Great cleaner and polish for guitar!
In my search for a good guitar polish that didn't have silicone in it, I came across Virtuoso Premium Instrument Polish & Cleaner Combo. After all the positive reviews this product was getting I decided to try some. The Virtuoso cleaner and polish combo does not have the terrible stuff called "Silicone" in it, so that was a plus right off. You start off with the cleaner, and following the normal application process the cleaner will remove all dirt and grime and foreign substances quite well. The cleaner works so well and puts such a nice shine on your guitar that you could easily stop right there and be happy. But use the polish! and you will be rewarded with a very nice luster, your guitars natural beauty will pop out, the guitar will look like it was meant to look.Anything worth while usually doesn't come easy, so to do a proper job you will have to use some elbow grease. But that is what it takes sometimes to remove all the other silicone based polishes your guitar probably has on it, because almost all guitar polishes have silicone in them. Silicone is terrible for a guitar, do some research and find out why.In a nutshell, Virtuoso cleaner and polish combo is in my opinion the best product out there for restoring your guitars natural beauty. It works great on all finishes. Thanks

Wow...wow!
I bought this combo set about a year ago and tried it once, really half-assed. I had minor results and thought it was crap. BUT, I just gave it another try on my rosewood/Adirondack Martin and oh my god does it work amazingly! I can't believe it... I have been trying to get a general sticky haze off of my finish for months now and nothing would actually clean it off. I realize now that the problem I had a year ago was I was lazy and only spent a few minutes trying. This time, I spent about 35 minutes total, applying and circle rubbing the cleaner on all the sides of my guitar, using some force with a soft washcloth. With about 10 minutes of circle buffing on each side the finish was better than new! THEN for about another 20 minutes I repeated with a new cloth and the polish...it is absolutely amazing how good my guitar looks now...better than it did brand new!!! It smells good, feels smooth, and I can't believe that the answer to getting my finish back to new has been sitting on my the shelf all this time. I honestly thought I needed a luthier with a buffing wheel...nope. This stuff is amazing. As loud as I can yell it, this stuff is amazing!

Removes sweat stains and light scratches from nitro finishes
I have a Martin CEO-9 that I've been gigging with all summer and it built up some nasty sweat stains where my forearm rests on the lower bout. I applied the cleaner twice first, since it has some grit in it. Had to work it in for quite a while and then use another cloth to remove excess. I then applied the polish a couple of times. Wow! It not only got rid of the sweat stains completely, it also removed quite a few lighter scratches. The guitar shines with great luster now. It was a lot of work, but it was worth it! I highly recommend.

Good product pair.
This stuff works really well, I have used it on 3 different guitars and has definitely brought some glory back to all of them. Getting the cleaner with the polish really helps, it seems to be even gentler than murphys oil soap while still really stripping off some gunk. One really old guitar that I tried it on didn't shine up quite as well as the other 2 (one polyurethane one Nitro-cellulose finish), but I think it was more a function of a poor quality finish that was put on the guitar back in 1952 than a failure of the product. These are small bottles but still well worth it if you are serious about maintaining your instruments.

Virtuoso is meraviglioso—cleaned and restored my vintage Gibson LP to a brilliant shine.
I am a (former) musician/composer and recently picked the guitar back up to play again, fetching my instruments from storage only to find that one of my guitars, a vintage Gibson Les Paul, had moisture stains --unsightly white marks (“hazing”), the result of unwanted moisture getting trapped in the nitro finish (nitro ages beautifully, but it is also porous). On the recommendation of a friend and symphony player, and after my old regimen failed to remove these stains, I purchased the Virtuoso kit (cleaner and polish) which not only cleaned the guitar of these marks, etc. but restored the finish to a brilliant, high gloss shine. A little goes a very long way and the “trick” (if there is one) is the cleaner--use a very small amount of the cleaner on a very small area of the instrument and, in circular motion, firmly rub (there are seemingly no abrasives in this product), working that area back and forth before moving onto the next area, taking your time and always using a clean cloth (Virtuoso removes wax and other build ups, and could wind up with haze if there’s any other polish or residue on the cloth); wipe any excess and buff. Then, for that high gloss shine, follow up with the polish, which supposedly provides UV protection, keeping the finish from fading under fluorescent lights or if exposed to sunlight as well. In short, Virtuoso's kit is the best that I have ever used, saving me from what I thought would be a trip (and associated costs) to the luthier for a finish repair/restoration, and I highly recommend it.
