Awesome charger, even worked in the Otterbox Defender case!
The media could not be loaded. After getting a car phone vent holder from Instagram before, I was extremely skeptical about this charger. However, my skepticism was unfounded; I was pleasantly surprised to receive this and test it. It is a quality device. The instructions are printed in both English and Chinese. The English was slightly hard to understand what it meant but it was pretty straightforward to figure out. The Chinese figures, we didn’t attempt to understand. ;-)I wanted the charger to hold my husband’s iPhone XS which is in a thick Otterbox Defender case. In the past, we have to remove the case in order for it to hold the phone. This time, it was snug, but it did work, it did hold the phone while phone was in the case and it did not fall! Very satisfied with that it’s like FINALLY!!! I also tested it with my own iPhone XS Max phone and of course I had to remove the case on mine, it’s a thick, wallet type case with a leather strap. I wasn’t expecting it’d work with my thick case. Without the case, it fit perfectly well and held tight. Now the information which isn’t the most clear from the manual, on the side of the device, there is a silver “touch button” and that button is very sensitive. You put the phone there and touch that silver button and the grips close around the phone to hold it. Then, touch the silver button again to release your phone (make sure car engine is still on, it has to have power to grip/release with that silver touch button). That is nice and instinctive, very good design. The one thing to watch for, it’s very sensitive and if you are using GPS map on your phone and adjust phone toward you, if you accidentally touch the silver button, the phone will release.Another good point, we took this with us and tested it on a bumpy country road, over RR tracks and through potholes. The iPhone XS in its Otterbox case did NOT fall! Success! I was concerned about that since it’s a little bit barely fitting. I would like to see the phone holder parts slightly larger to accommodate a phone a thick case. However, it did not fall through a good bumpy drive. (In the past a holder we got which had elastic bands on the bottom, it fell and wouldn’t even grip the vent good)—this case is excellent though, it exceeded my expectations.Another good point is that the vent grip is very tight. It’s obviously well made and you can use it with assurance that the vent grip part will not slip off. If you prefer to not use a vent, then there is also a 3M sticker device to attach the charger to your dashboard. We did not test that, we preferred to use the vent as we will move it between two vehicles (until we get a second device!)When you unbox it, there is a charger cable which we plugged into the cigarette lighter USB port in the car. There are two places to plug it into the charger, one on the bottom and one on the right side near the bottom. Another good thing, you know it’s working because the charger plate shows a red light meaning it’s on, it’s ready to charge. I could not see there was another light/ maybe the phone was over it but it wasn’t necessary because I can see the charging icon on my phone. As it says, it’s a 10w charger. The iPhone XS and XS Max which we tested are only set by Apple to charge up to 7.5 speed. We did see it was charging faster than it normally does. If your phone has 10w capability it will charge to that. All in all, this is a great device, we recommend it with confidence. If it grips your case and holds, then it can be used with case. Our case had no magnetic or metal in it to block the currant. If your case is very thick, then the phone will need to be removed from the case. Please refer to pictures on the video also. We are very pleased with this device and hope to add a second one!

Stop right now, you have found THE car phone charger you want!!!
I know, how excited can you be for a under 30 dollar device??...... lol... let me tell you.I was needing a charger for my car, besides the 'ol cable and let the phone slide around the passenger seat, or console while driving, system.I thought, why not go modern.....I found this little gem while shopping. When it arrived, I found my car battery had died, and was disappointed that I could not hook it up in my car immediately. Also, I didn't realize I was going to need a quick charge car adapter to get the fast charging capability. No worries, stand clear, I am an engineer.....I used the USB ac adapter in my home to test for function. As an engineer, we don't read instructions.....So, upon first power on, I liked the illumination of the charging status LEDs.I jumped a little when the arms moved. lol... yea, If I would have read the instructions, I would have realized just how cool this thing really was.It has an infra red sensor on the front of the charger base, and also a touch sensor on each side, about 3/4 down each side. So, when you bring your phone close to the cradle, the arms open up, and will close automatically to hug your phone. It does not squeeze your phone, but just enough pressure to keep it in place. And yes, cringing, I turned the cradle upside down to see if my phone was going to fall out of the cradle. It was held very nicely in place, and did not fall out. This kit is nice. It comes with a clip style, and also a 3m adhesive mount. I used the clip to mount it on my air vent. I had to find the sweet spot on the vent, to make this rock solid. because of the way air vents are made, there is some curvature in the blades. I can touch the screen, move icons, and do whatever I normally do with the screen, and the phone is stable. It does not wobble,or shift. This is a very nice charger. The arms do not intrude on the phone screen at all. I have a LG V30, so, it is a good sized phone. The arms extended out beyond my phone, so, it will take a larger phone too.... lol... but not like a tablet though...I wish I had found this earlier. I will be getting my wife one of these too.If you pass this up, you will be very sorry for what you will be missing.A well made device, is fun to own, for a very good price.highly highly recommend. just get this.

Decent Product But Kia Drivers Beware
The media could not be loaded. Pros: Automatically opens and closes to make putting your phone on the dock a breeze. Flexible mounting options, either dash or vent clip. Long USB cable. Decent charge output but not a fast charge loke it claims.Cons: Auto sensor tries to open and release phone when I try to touch my phone's home button. Doesn't work well with my car's setup (see below for more info). Not a fast charge, but good enough. Dash mount limited in flexibility.Add'l Notes:The 4 stars are based on the product itself, but it is not good for some cars. I drive a 2020 Kia Soul and the positioning of the vents and design of the dash make this not a great fit. The vent mount hangs frien and blocks the touch screen on the car. The dash mount needs a flat surface and the beveled edge on the Soul's dash renders this device's dash mount useless. So before you buy, take a good look at your car's setup and see if it will work for you.

Bad, and unreliable product
I am extremely disappointed with the charger, it stopped charging completely, after it was charging on and off at the beginning. Also, the right side arm is stuck at the close position. Thank you Amnon Gabay
