Beautiful Guitar!
Fantastic instrument!Looks, plays, and sounds like those high-end axes that celebrities/legends play--given to them by makers of elite instruments--to promote and sell high $$ equipment.Yes, a musician can pull music from a wreck. I've heard it. With my own ears. But a hack/novice can't pull sound from a fine instrument. Schecter bridges the gap.I'm 50, have had 1-3 guitars (some cheapos) at a time since 1973; acoustic, semi-acoustic, solid body electric, and handled some of the "finest" money could buy. I still have my Epiphone FT-120 I bought new in 1977. I'm no musician by a long shot, but this Schecter is one of the 'friendliest' I've had the pleasure of spending time with.I returned a Damien (more for metal w/ DMG pickups) I liked for this one. Coupled with a Line 6 Spider IV 15 watt amp, the sounds you can get is a blast. The Floyd Rose "licensed" locking trem takes a little patience to set up, but is fine w/me. It gives the guitar that much more of a custom fit for you.Out of the box, it was near spot on, and near in tune (new strings stretch and go flat daily, depending on your aggression and string guage, etc... stretch 'em when you install 'em!). Finish is eye-popping w/quilted maple sunburst, and I love the look. Makes me want to play it as often as I can.All said... If your a hobby player, BUY THIS GUITAR. If your a paid pro or just plain wealthy, BUY one of THESE, have a blast, and save wear and tear on your name brand rig(s). At this price range, Schecter offers a don't pass gift.

Not Sold As Advertised!
Sold as in "Good" condition and playable. The guitar is dirty, scratched, dinged. The output jack is loose inside the guitar. The pickups are set deep into the frame and don't even look like the originals. And the whammy bar is missing!! And this was after the first one that was ordered went "missing" right after being shipped. Sadly the only reason this was purchased for $425 used when you can get a NEW one from Schecter for $499 was convenience.

Great Guitar!
I am extremely happy with this purchase, it was a great deal! Thanks Amazon! This guitar is astounding! The paint and inlay are absolutely beautiful! The craftsmanship that was put into this guitar is that which you would expect from a manufacturer whose guitars costs hundreds, if not thousands of dollars more. It came with the action set perfectly, although I am going to have to pull a couple of springs off of the Floyd Rose and re-set it up to my preferences. The Schecter hardware is great, although I would have preferred to have the active SMG pickups. The intonation is great, and most importantly, it feels great in my hands.I actually bought this guitar from Amazon, after returning an vastly inferior Fender Stratocaster. Right out of the box I knew that piece of junk Fender would be on the next UPS truck back to Amazon. I have never felt so ripped-off buying a guitar in my life, and will Never buy another Fender product again. With the money I saved after returning the Fender and purchasing the Schecter, I was also able to buy a Schecter case as well.Right now, the guitar sits in it's case among my collection waiting for me to find the time to re-set it up to my preferences. It is my show piece. Everytime somebody comes over, I have to pull it out and impress them with it's beauty and quality. And they are impressed. Now by oldest brother wants one in a 7-string configuration....

Disappointed
First, I’d like to say that I’m a big fan of Schecter guitars. This is a beautiful guitar and I can’t wait to complete the repairs and get to play it. This is my second Schecter. However, this particular guitar disappointed me right out of the box. There’s a clear sticker on the back that says, “set up to play.” This would be a great benefit since a Floyd Rose system can be “tricky” to set up.First, I checked and the guitar was out of tune. No big deal, I expected that. Then I noticed the action was way too high. Further investigation, I found that the neck wasn’t completely screwed in. I pressed the neck into place and attempted to tighten the screws and one was completely stripped out. Thankfully, I know how to make this kind of repair but this is not how a new Schecter guitar should arrive. Quality control failed to catch this flaw before sending it out.

A lot of guitar for the money.
I bought this guitar as a mid-priced instrument to keep in my home in Galveston. It’s pretty humid there so I didn’t want to pay big-money on a guitar that sits 8 months out of the year in a too-humid environment. (I know guitars like humidity but not sure how much.)Anyway, the guitar had so many features, including the ability to split coils, separate volume knobs for the bridge and neck pickups, (Turn the neck pickup all the way down and use the selector switch for an on/off effect ala: Van Halen’s “You Really Got Me”.The neck plays really nicely, even when the action is lowered. I liked the guitar so much, I bought two!
