Clear sound
Use this at work around heavy equipment to signal ground staff and operators during heavy lift and loading with cranes.Clear sound carries well in loud enviorment.

Solid and Loud
This whistle is exceptional. Well crafted, solid brass with no seam on the barrel whatsoever and a slight seam at the mouthpiece under belly. Exorbitantly loud compared to all other whistles I’ve blown. Planning to use in falconry.

Old Fashioned Beats All the Modern Day Plastic
You just can't beat an old fashioned whistle, and especially a brass one. When my dogs do not have their training collars on, they often choose to ignore me, forcing me to yell at the top of my lungs to get them to come. I purchased these, one to keep on the door handle, and another to keep in the truck so it's always there. They learned very quickly that two quick toots on the whistle means to stop what they are doing and come to me. They can hear these from quite a long distance living in the country. I also bought a supposedly loud plastic modern day whistle, and it can't compete with these Acme Brass Thunderer 60.5 whistles.

Worth it! LOUD
Use this for recess as a substitute. I bought this AFTER I got a garbage plastic one from walmart that didn't work. Definitely LOUD and a "coaches whistle". Worth the price. Has some wear from being in the packaging. The pictures were taken right after opening. My only worry is if it has scratches from the package how will it hold up over time.So far I would buy again. If anything chages I'll update.

Acme Brass Thunderer
I ordered two whistles for my sons to use when coaching lacrosse. The reason I choice a Acme Thunderer is because I believe mine is likely over a hundred years old. The whistle on the left is my old whistle. Very similar but you can see how production technique has become more advanced. I would try to compare the sound but it is late at night! A whistle that lasts over a hundred years? YES, I recommend this whistle, very highly.

Good quality
Good quality fit and finish, good carrying tone for long distance dog training, little pricey.

The standard (by which other whistles should be measured)
Of the four whistles I have, this is my choice for outdoor emergency situations.I compared this to three whistles. Two of them were straight whistles, one titanium alloy and one bamboo shaped. The other was a Fox 40 Sonik Blast. The two straight whistles were well-made but put out little volume. The Fox 40 Sonik Blast may be as loud as the Acme, but the Fox 40 Sonik Blast doesn't have the recognizable pea whistle sound, as it isn't a pea whistle. In addition, the Sonik Blast is made of plastic and has two chambers, whereas the Acme is made of brass and has only one chamber. The choice between the latter two would be of personal preference.

Nice looking and loud
I had a Thunderer for probably 20 years that worked great for school recess and other activities, but the chrome was chipping it came apart. I decided to get this one in the hopes that it will last another 20 years. So far I am very happy.
