Incredible Source for Counselors and Counseling Students Alike!
All of the Homework Planners, Treatment Planners, and Progress Notes Planners by Jongsma et al. are incredible tools! I am in my Masters program, and I have used these books over and over and over--especially in the 2nd year of my Masters Counseling Program. I cannot say enough about this group of texts. First, let me say that the books seem to follow Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques most, but I find it easy to tweak the exercises, etc., to fit other therapies, not to mention the fact that there are suggestions that run a gamut of different ideologies.Past that, I love the fact that the TREATMENT PLANNERS offer "Short-Term Objectives," "Long-Term Goals," and "Therapeutic Interventions." It also gives some of the common "Behavioral Definitions" for each diagnosis and leaves plenty of room for notes. One of the absolute most helpful tools is that it lists "Diagnostic Suggestions" or differential diagnosis for each category along with the DSM-5 and DSM-4 code numbers. The HOMEWORK PLANNERS offer exercises in the form of handouts that clients can take home. The questions for each diagnoses are relevant, open-ended, and made to enhance critical thinking about the symptoms/issues/situations clients may be facing. The PROGRESS NOTES PLANNERS use professional language that is easy to understand, while at the same time specific and relevant. If I were going to be seeing several different ages of clients, etc., and if I was just starting my library of Jongsma et al. Planners, I would start with the Adult Psychotherapy Treatment Planner, The Group Therapy Treatment Planner, and the Adolescent Therapy Treatment Planner and work my way down from there. I would not (and am not) going to stop until I have them all because, for example, the Adult Psychotherapy Treatment Planner does cover marital infidelity, but the Couples Therapy Treatment Planner goes into so much more detail; therefore, these books are great from so many angles!! Anyway, I could on and on, but I will stop there except to say, you won't go wrong with these!

Great book!
For anyone who develops treatment plans on a regular basis and finds themselves at a loss from time to time with goals and objectives, then this is a must have. Some reviewers indicated that the format is all off....its not. Its set up with various long term goals then broken down with a short term goal on the left side of the page and then a list of objectives for that particular short term goal on the right side. So you see one short term goal and maybe a list of 3, 4, 5, 10 objectives listed. No book format issues, you just need to understand how its laid out. I work for a large agency and have a 300+ client caseload and this book has saved my sanity many times.

Recommend to all who create treatment plans
Excellent aid for beginners social workers, case management and counselors as well. Provided you with different DSM5 diagnoses then you can see what could be used as a goal, intervention and objectivesPros. All of this series’s of books are designed and laid out;. found them beneficial for beginning active treatment planning and determining what would be a starting place.Numerous books focusing on specific populationsCons. They can get a little redundant if you use the same book for all clients. Not all these match the explanations of diagnosis. So you have to double check with the DSM5.These books help with providing multiple areas of treatments, goals and objectives.

useful but similar to all the other books in this series
This book is helpful in terms of creating treatment plans. It is very similar to all the other books in this series. Some mental health diagnoses are not in this book, but I fully understand that the entire DSM cannot be included. Good for new counselors!

Great resource!
Just when I think I did a good job on a treatment plan, I sometimes check this book and notice a few ideas I could use in addition to what I wrote. Good resource. Very thorough.

This is an excellent book if you are just starting out in the ...
This is an excellent book if you are just starting out in the field or if you are in school because while is does not go through every single diagnosis, it lists general topics that people come to therapy for (grief/loss, intimate partner relationship conflicts, anxiety, childhood trauma, etc.) and gives you behavioral definitions that typically are involved, long term goals, short term goals, and therapeutic goals to go along with the short term goals. While treatment is not "one size fits all", this is a great place to start and familiarize yourself with these areas and evidence based treatments.

Great book
The book was brand new and in excellent condition. There was just some shipping errors that occurred causing it to be delivered to the wrong address, which caused some delays. Other than that, my experience with the shipper was good.
