Effective in keeping water out
I use this and a shower shield to keep my picc line dry while showering. I add a hair band on my lower wrist as the shield is too far down too make a secure fit with the elastic alone. I’ve found the combination to be very effective at preventing water, but this is meant for one time use only. I don’t reuse them, it’s not worth the risk of getting the picc line wet imo. I tried just the shield when I had a previous midline in, but it always leaked some water in, and getting the reusable types on is challenging and I don’t like pulling on the line, so the combination of this item and the shield is perfect for me. It’s helpful to make sure there isn’t plastic folded under the elastic too, that makes the seal less effective but be gentle untangling it or it tears! Only thing I’d say could be improved is reinforcing plastic where the elastic is.

Great, disposable, PICC Line shower protection
I was hesitant about buying these after I read several reviews that spoke of how thin and easily torn the plastic was. Still, I needed something as wrapping my arm in plastic wrap with tape and rubber bands was a pain. The plastic is thin, but it is no where near as bad as some people claim. Its like plastic wrap... its thin, but you can handle it, tug on it a little. For what these are, DISPOSABLE protectors, it is what a reasonable person would expect in quality. Now, as for it being WATERPROOF, no, it isn't... If you let your shower blast onto it, especially the upper elastic, water can find its way in. I was instructed not to have my line exposed to the shower spray directly, covered, or otherwise. The wrap or these sleeves are just to HELP... If some water sprays off your body it will protect it. In response to some of the other questions and comments I saw while trying to decided on these: No you can NOT take a bath or submerge these, they will NOT keep the water out. If you take hot hot showers and long, I could easily see your sweat building up under these and staying in them, thus wetting your PICC Line. If you are careful with them, there is no reason you couldn't reuse a sleeve several times. Using rubber bands around both ends, especially the upper side, would DEFINITELY help prevent water from getting in. Just use some care, take your time, and these will work exactly as promised.

They work beaufully, just be gentle putting them on
Thin sleeves for the shower to keep incisions or whatever dry that work beautifully as long as you're careful putting them on. (Eg., don't poke a finger through the side while stretching it around a bicep.) This is the second box of these I've bought, so with that one proviso obviously I am happy with the way they work.

Works Great For A PICC Line
My mother had a PICC line for 6 weeks, and could not get it wet. These sleeves worked very well, allowing her to take showers while keeping the bandage around the PICC line dry. We did add a ring of bandage tape just to make sure to sealed well. Not sure if that was really needed!

Disposable Shower SOC is a winner!
Wish I had bought this product 8 weeks ago when I started Picc line IVs. Administration of the IVs every 8 hours was not such a big deal; trying to keep the Picc dressing dry in the shower became the biggest frustration. I tried different methods such as Press n Seal, long plastic hand and arm covers, small plastic bags etc, secured on each end with 2" plastic tape. None of these methods were effective in keeping my skin dry, plus the tape irritated my skin badly. Even though I had only about a week to go with the IVs, I threw in the towel and went back online to see if there might be a Picc line water protection product that I had overlooked. And there was. I ordered a box of the Disposable Shower SOC by P+P Custom Medical Supplies and received a note from the seller letting me know that they had shipped my order that same day. So I received it far more quickly than I had expected. Rubber bands on each end of the SOC keep the water out and the Picc dressing remains dry. Showering is once again a pleasure. IT WORKS!

Don’t waste your time and money!
I bought it to protect my new tattoo from being licked by my dog, but all it really did was make my arm sweaty. Plus, it was really uncomfortable due to the elastic digging into my skin.

Works with a tweak
I bought 2 different products for comparison. The other one works great because it has a thick seal that prevents water from getting through when I shower. This product didn’t work well because the elastic band at both ends is extremely thin. I found a way to work around it (you could always tape around it if you have someone helping you, but I don’t), so I put a thick rubber band at each end. They both fit tightly and my arm stayed dry underneath. Problem solved. I hope this helps you too. Good luck.
