Zefal Bicycle Rim Tape 22mm Pair

I like adhesive rim tape better than the stretchy plastic rim strips. Personal preference. The plastic strips need to fit exactly or the edge can cut the tube. The plastic has the advantage of being slippery making it easier to seat the tire. I use light talc powder with these. This brand was perfectly cut and adhered and cut clean.

This rim tape seems to be of good quality and does what it’s meant to do, keep the rim from popping it’s own tires. I only knocked off a star because the size chart was inaccurate for the 16” wheels I was buying it for. It’s best to measure the width for yourself before placing your order.

This is the best rim tape I've ever used. Perfection on every level, from ease of installation to quality of the product. I use this on my 26" XC wheels and it fixed the problems I had with the stock plastic-like crappy rim tape. This is a perfect fit for just about any MTB wheels.. wide enough to cover spoke holes with plenty to spare in width. The adhesive on the tape holds it in place flawlessly, but can be removed easily without leaving sticky slimy melted residue from riding in hot weather.The hole is sized for a presta valve. If you are old school like myself and rock the schrader valves, simply cut a small X into the hole.. otherwise you'll have trouble forcing the larger valve through the opening in the tape.

Very good adhesive, easy to line up and keep straight on rim. High quality fabric.

I have read reviews that say the rim tapes that comes with the bicycles are crap. After my last flat, I bought a replacement inner tube and this rim tape, and pull out the rim tape that came with the bicycle, and I then understand what the reviewers meant. The original rim tapes are actually sprayed on plastic tapes. They sort of cover the spoke heads, but leaves some sharp edges and little folds along the tape. If your innertube is highly inflated, it could come in contact with those sharp edges and cause damage and leakage.This Zefal rim tape is made of cloth and is very easy to apply on to the bare rims. I can see that the cloth Zefal rim tape is going to provide much better protection to the inner tube. I think everyone should replace the rim tapes that come with their bicycles to prevent flat tires.

I kept getting flat tires on my 1 year old Trek Verve hybrid bike. I finally noticed most of the punctures were on the inside part of the tube facing the spokes. At first I thought maybe I was really bad at installing new tubes; but then I replaced the rim tape, and my chronic flat tires have stopped. Installation of the rim tape was very easy, and I didn't have to widen the hole to fit a schrader valve.
