Frieda: a novel of the real Lady Chatterley Paperback – June 27, 2019

I'm eager to read this novel after reading the book by Martin Green titled THE VON RICHTHOFEN SISTERS The Triumphant and the Tragic Modes of Love. Both promise to be rich sources of information about the sisters, their time, and the life of Max Weber.

What a strange book. Abbs rambles on too long about Frieda's frustrations with her Nottingham life and her husband. And later in the book there are chapters unendingly about her hysteria and deteriorating emotional life because she misses her three children. Her relationship with Lawrence, so cloyingly romantic at first, deteriorates because of his dependency on her and his constant writing, and by her increasing frustration with her life with Lawrence. I keep reading because I hope things will change...some way.
