Traditionally, barbuta helmets didn't feature visors, although the needs of the warrior are what dictate the evolution of the helm. Thus, this Visored Barbuta Helmet is as protective as a typical barbuta and then-some, thanks to the added visor. The barbuta was originally designed in medieval Italy, although because of how effective and useful the helmet was, it spread to other regions as well. This helmet alters the typical design of a barbute by including a protective visor. The helmet is crafted from quality steel and features an incredible looking dark metal finish, which makes the helmet look aged and worn. It is a full-sized replica helmet that is fully wearable, and when worn, Measurements: Medium: Fits a 23 to 26 inch head circumference Large: Fits a 24 to 28 inch head circumference. Know what you're buying
There are a wide range of reviews so I'll try to gap this some. know what you're buying, for the price point this is exactly what you should expect. its a good display piece, it can be a good larp/costume piece but probably will need a little work. like may I had some sharp edges and rivets that needed filing. my head is pretty big so i had to do some bending, but metal, especially this gauge is very forgiving and you can flex it a good bit. the pin that holds it closed no longer hit its hole once it was big enough for my noggin but again this is not a "use" piece. It is not the item exactly in the photo that is one thing i don't like, stop using stock photo from someone else, but every one of these on amazon uses this photo. the design originator left a review on one seller, so I checked his site. over $2k for the helm. so take it in stride this is a $60 knock off but it works just fine for what it is. The company was fast to reply to my issue (mine was damaged on arrival) and took care of my issue fast an friendly like.

You get what you pay for
I like this product… but the pins for the visor were defective, (like they had been clipped so I can’t pull them out or remove the visor) and one of the faux leather pieces lining the edge (material on the inside holding the straps) broke literally first time wearing it. Other than that it’s good for an authentic looking helm to wear as a costume or cosplay.

Looks great if you are planning to display it.
It looks cool on my shelf. It didn’t order it to wear so it’s really not that comfortable but why should it be? Who the hell is going into battle? Sturdy and attractive. That’s all you need to know

Good helm, bad shipments
Like - Order arrived early. So a plus to the seller for getting their product out quick. But... second like, the helm is solid feel, fits my big head, and looks great from a distance. Visor functionality is good not great.Dislike - post manufacturing them leave an oily residue, may maintain metal, smells bad. Visor, made using a grate for eye guard, fine, but put some time in how it’s adhered. Jagged metal, in ground edges. Inside lacks ANY padding. Consider a hood or padding if you purchase. When you lift a face shield the attachment pins will fall out. No flare at the base of helm. Too straight.Last - it came dented. Visor. Right between the eyes. I don’t blame the seller, but you should wrap this in Styrofoam or box it. The bubble wrap was not sufficient.

Too small visor doesn’t line up
It’s well made and won’t fall apart, but too small to actually wear. Rough rivets on the inside will cut your face. The eye slits are a half inch above where you actually look if you manage to get the helmet on, making it where you can’t see anything. But it looks good otherwise as a conversation piece. I’ve ordered other helmets half the price and got a better overall helmet
