Sparco All-Steel Cash Box with Latch Lock

Gotta say I was QUITE surprised by this box when it arrived. For $10 my expectations weren't very high. I just need this for the very occasional craft show, I don't need it often enough to spend a lot of money on one. Box is solid, well built, yes the keys are flimsy but I honestly don't expect to be locking/unlocking it all the time anyway. My plan is to actually bolt this to a board that will be used as a desktop at a show - someone wants to try to run with the box-attached-to-board, well good luck with that.Plenty of space in this, the area beneath the plastic tray is MUCH larger than I had expected, will be a handy place to store receipt books, pens and such. An excellent value, just what I needed.

Bought to replace a cash box from the 60’s. Obviously not as heavy gauge steel but very similar in construction. Hope it lasts

I got this to replace an old cash box. I really like the partitions and the fact that the try can be removed allowing for a bit more storage under the try. I really wanted to replace my old cash box with one that was as similar as possible. This was the only one that fit my specifications. I am pleased with the quality of the box and the latch, they feel more durable than the one I had to replace. I was happy with the color selection, and the price was great.

I would say this cash box is great....except for the lock and latch. The lock is not really a lock at all, so flimsy. The latch has a hard time lining up, but seems to keep the lid shut. The box itself is nice as well as the money tray. Too bad it couldn't all be constructed soundly... 3 stars for this product due to lock and latch.

When I purchased this item, I had the intention to help out a friend who wanted to hold cash for sales she made at a fundraiser. I helped out at the fundraiser and I simply could not believe how well it held cash. Our entire purpose of purchasing it was to hold some cash, but not too much. It also had that little key so we could keep it secured when we had it hidden under the table. Obviously, if you wanted some intense security with this, it's best supplemented with armed bodyguards (whose hourly rate might be worth more than the cash this box would hold). Since our fund raiser was in a very safe place and we had someone man the table at all times, being smart about locking things and keeping things out of sight of people with bad intentions. Keep the simple things in mind and you'll be fine. Also, the build quality is good, not exceptional, but if you're looking for some heavy duty equipment with an included machine gun that shoots targets on sight if they approach it within 2 meters without a friend-or-foe identifying wristband, you're truly in the wrong product's listing. I don't know where else to direct you, but I can assure you it's not where you are right now.

I just need the box to store a few things so I don' need it to be all that secure otherwise I would be sending it back: the lock is crude and does not function very well, and the lid does not sit all the way down. The box is made of a decent gauge steel and has a good hinge but other than that it is poorly put together and not at all secure.

I purchased this because it was the only one I could find that has a lift up area so I can put larger bills in the bottom part. Good price.

I've been using this for my non-profit to store fundraising funds. The lock broke off after 2 weeks of normal use. The keys are hard to get used to and once the lock broke off, the handle is useless because it just opens up and dumps everything on the floor.
