Perfect In-between Size
We use our luncheon plates when our meal is a bit too big for a salad plate but looks lonely on a dinner plate. We have had our Blue Italian Spode dishes for at least 20 years but only noticed this size when we went looking for both a new dinner plate and salad plate to replace ones that had been broken. What a find! Couldn’t be happier.

Spode luncheon plate
Beautiful Spode plate. Was thinking they would be bigger. I have salad and dinner but was thinking the 8.5 would be bigger…

Great pattern!! Great company, Spode!!
Love this pattern... Wish they would make the larger cereal bowls like in the Spodes Christmas Tree China, 5.5 (or fruit bowl, I think they call it).

DON'T BUY! Defective, flawed "seconds" items being sold dishonestly as first quality Spode!
Although it says "Made in England" on the bottom, this is a poor quality, defective Spode "seconds" item being dishonestly advertised as first quality Spode. It has multiple rough holes in the glaze (stilt marks) with protruding bits of irregular china on the bottom. Every single plate in both my orders (2 sets of 4) had this defect. You can feel it when you pick up the plates, and the instinct is to turn them over to check if they're clean because it feels like there is dried food crusted on the bottom. The worst cases have bits of unglazed ceramic protruding so sharply that it feels like you could scratch yourself while handling them. The pattern is muddy and blurred compared proper-quality Spode pieces. Spode sells these rejects off cheap, and this seller is marking them as standard-quality Spode and charging higher prices. I regret falling for this -- don't make the same mistake I did! Don't fall for this cheap, defective rip-off! If you are adding pieces to your Blue Italian collection, or even if you just care about receiving a high-quality product as advertised, you will be sorely disappointed by this scam.
