I love this light.
This is my third light from Petzl. I'm very pleased with the performance The third power level is pretty impressive for distance and brightness. Battery life is also impressive. One of my three light is not rechargeable and this product is my go to.

My favorite headlamps
Petzl is by far my favorite headlamp manufacturer and I have owned a few other brands including nite ize, and princeton tec. Their longevity is great, I have some that are over 10 years old (not that bright by todays standards though) and still running strong. The new core lights are fantastic, besides having 2 options for batteries, The rechargeable CORE and AAAs, they are vey bright, have multiple modes including red, and are easy to operate. i also find the light such as this with no rear battery pack and are very lightweight to ge very comfortable for long use. i have 3 of these and a Tacktikka CORE in random spots around my house for night use as well as power outages (in addition to my 3 or 4 ‘vintage’ Petzls).

Great durable headlamp
Durable headlamp and battery. We had one of these go missing for a couple of months, found it outside. It had been buried in the snow, freezing rain, and many inches of rain. Did have moisture inside, left it open for a couple of days and charged the battery. Works fine been using it. These have been our best headlamps worth the money.

Great rechargeable headlamp
I now own two of these. I bought one about two years ago and have used it on numerous trips as well as around the house. Lightweight, easy to use, adjustable, and multiple light settings. The Core battery has worked perfectly for me. Recharges fully in a few hours and battery life is pretty good. As long as I am not using the highest brightness (there are 3 brightness levels), I can go months before recharging, using it a few nights a week. However, at the highest brightness, you will drain the battery after about an hour of usage. But I find that level 2 brightness is perfect for nearly every scenario.Nice to be able to put AAA batteries in if needed. But also rechargeable in the field, too. Took this on our 16 day Grand Canyon trip and hadn't charged it before hand. But we took a small solar charger with us and it easily charged the Core over the course of a few hours.Only downside is that it is not actually waterproof. Haven't had any issues yet, but would give me more peace of mind if it were waterproof.

Running in the dark...take THIS!
I like to run, and I like to run before work. Well, at 5:00am it's pretty darn dark and I like to see where I'm going. This like is doing a great job keeping the road in front of my well lit. 450 lumens is the perfect amount of light for running on dark roads.I like that the light can rotate several degrees. It says put on the setting that I pick and I can point it out so I can see in the distance, or point it down so I can get a bright light directly in front of me. It's comfortable on my head and has little to no bounce while running. It's easy to select the 3 settings of brightness. I also like that it includes a red light, as I do some nighttime photography and having a red light is a necessity to preserve my night sight. What I am finding is that the brightest setting is the only one worth using while running. There are 3 levels of white light, and the first 2 are not bright enough to run with. However, they are good enough for using around the house in the dark so they are not a compete waste. But, using the headlamp on the brightest setting really sucks the battery. I am finding I can get about 2 hours on a full charge, then the light switches down to the next lower light setting. It's nice that it doesn't completely shut off, as I've been in the middle of a run and rather than having no light, it just power down one setting and keeps running for about 30 more minutes. I just need to remember to charge it more often so I always have a full charge before heading out. In an emergency it can take 3 AAA batteries instead of the lithium battery and I love this feature. Also once the battery eventually wears down I can just buy a replacement battery instead of a whole new headlamp.Overall I'm really happy with this headlamp and would recommend it.

Excellent, very bright light
This Petal is an excellent light. It's various settings make it useful for many tasks where more or less light is needed. It's very useful to have the CORE rechargeable battery, as well as to be able to use regular batteries. Most of the time I only need the rechargeable battery, but I really like that it can also use regular batteries if I'm out away from electricity.

Super bright light!!
I run in the dark with my dog on a waist leash, and this headlamp has made a huge difference in my security. The brightness lights up the whole area, where I am running, including my peripheral vision, so I am able to see my dog next to me in the dark. I also run on some trails in the dark and can pick out low areas and rocks using this lamp. It is easy to use and does not bounce on your head while running. My only complaint is that the battery doesn’t last long (1.5 hours) when it is on the brightest setting so I have to charge it frequently. Overall, it was a good purchase for me.

My favorite headlamp
I find this to be indispensable. It is comfortable to wear, does't have superfluous straps, wires, compartments. Just a simple headlamp with easily accessible and rechargeable battery with awesome life. Although I haven't tried it, the ability to use AAA batteries helps in a pinch. The battery life has been great. The max brightness has come in handy multiple times for a nighttime flag ceremony, scoping and setting up a camping area a night, or as a theatre light for skits during a campfire program.I find the buttons easy to use to adjust brightness or mode. The strap holds its setting well. The entire light is rather light, but it has been durable for me (I generally care for my equipment well since I need to depend on it).
