Omron 3 Series Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor

My doctor recommended I buy this unit to check Bp at home. It’s much easier than using an arm cuff, more comfortable and much easier to store. I’ve even brought it to my doc with me to compare its readings to hers and its accuracy is impressive. It’s nice to be able to use it at home and trust the readings in getting.

Excellent product

Bought when we were paying close attention to my wife's BP. Way more convenient than the arm type BUT not always as accurate. Comes in a nice black storage box so it can sit inconspiciously on the counter. When the reading is off (too high or low), we just run a second one since it's way easy. I don't use any of the fancy storage features all of these devices seem to have...I suspect those are just marketing tools. So bottom line: great but don't panic if the reading is off, just do it again (other arm...you do have another arm, right?).

I am a curvy woman and have problems with getting a blood pressure reading because of my "flappy" upper arms. It is pure torture to use a "normal" upper arm blood pressure machine - even at the doctors office. So, my doctors nurse suggested this brand for a wrist cuff, and.....wow! It is so extremely easy to use and keeps track of previous blood pressure readings...I HIGHLY recommend this product....it has been a life changer for me....

I bought this monitor to have a more practical way to check my blood pressure at home, but from the very first use I noticed the readings were very inconsistent. I would take my blood pressure twice in a row without moving, and the results would vary a lot—sometimes by more than 15 points. I tried adjusting the position, keeping my wrist level with my heart, and still saw no improvement.Also, the cuff doesn’t fit well if you have a thin wrist, which clearly affects the accuracy. I liked the idea of it being compact and easy to use, but if it doesn’t provide reliable readings, it completely loses its usefulness.I ended up putting it away and switched to an upper arm monitor, which has been much more accurate. I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re looking for results you can really trust.

As a survivor of cardiac by-pass surgery 17 years ago (gotta keep moving, watch that cholesterol and eat a reasonable diet) I check my blood pressure every day, twice a day.I have been through several cuffs over the years and this is my second Omron unit. I have taken both of them to the Dr.'s office for comparison and found that they are "pretty" accurate. Easy use, easy to read and this is now the brand I will stick to.Yes, they cost a little more but well worth it.

This Omron unit was not able to give readings that were consistently accurate. Errors of 5 to 20 mmHg were frequent. At times I have an irregular heart beat. My heart beat actually skips beats or has weak beats quite frequently. This model may not handle this condition very well when attempting to measure. This unit is a new design that takes readings while the measurement pressure is increasing. A Doctors office and many other blood pressure units measure blood pressure while the cuff pressure is slowly dropping after reaching a high pressure that stops blood flow. The fabric covered spring wrist cuff was uncomfortable when putting on or taking it off. I have owned several different Omron wrist and arm cuff blood pressure units that gave reliable readings over the last 20 years . I am experienced in the correct methods and the normal variations in readings. The return and issue of refund was normal.
