So far so good. Stay sharp. Had last pair for 15 years. Hope to get half that out of these.

I bought these because they were a great price! They work great in the kitchen for food or to open packages! I put them in the dishwasher after I use them. So far they work wonderfully! I like the bottle opener inset in the blade. I think we will take them camping with us! I might give them as a Christmas present, because they work so well!

Great shears and can use it to open bottles.

After the screw on an old pair of scissors rusted, I bought the Clauss shears mainly to cut the packing tape on UPS packages. I wasn't paying attention when I ordered, but the solid features of these scissors did draw attention after a few days of use. The tips were so sharp that I could open packages by sliding a scissors tip down the middle of the packing tape. This helps save the blades from wear and tear. The blades are sharp and incise cellophane and paper effortlessly. The screw is replaced by a plastic button, which won't rust. The inner surfaces of the handles have a serrated grip that can open a child-proof vial, and there's a bottle cap opener on one of the blades.The only thing I would change about these shears is to make the rings a bit longer to accommodate large hands, but that's a minor issue. This is a great product with a thoughtful design. I will use something else to tear open packages from now on; these shears got promoted to my kitchen favorites.

I like everything about these scissors, except that the grip is too small for my thumb. And that is a deal breaker. It is so uncomfortable to use - and it even hurts my thumb when used for a prolonged period of time. I suspect that this has been designed with a smaller female hand in mind. Too bad - such good quality but for a limited audience.

Incredibly well made scissors that are extremely durable and trustworthy. Well designed and well made.

Though not dress maker's precision (my opinion), if you are looking for an all-around general purpose scissor, I highly recommend the Clauss 18052. I have purchased many pairs of these for all of my work areas and tool kits.

We had a similar pair, whose handles were chewed by a puppy. They still lasted for years, but after many uses in the kitchen and elsewhere, the handles became uncomfortable. These looked similar in the photo, and when I opened the package, they were exactly the same, except for the inner color on the handle. I expect to get many years of use out of them.

Exceedingly handy especially for opening bottles and smaller jars for those with arthritic fingers.

I can only assume the quality control is really poor as my experience of these does not tally at all with the 5 start reviews. I bought two pairs and having struggled to get a pair out of the extra strong, super sharp edged plastic it was surrounded by I set to testing. Paper was fine. Medium card a struggle. Plastic of any sort didn't work at all and after experimenting I discovered why. They are sharp (ish) at the pivot but most of the length of the blades are blunt and so cutting things that require a full blade cut such as polythene, plastic or cloth is hopeless. Absolutely pointless trying to cut anything with the tips. Strongly suggest you buy something else.

I love the look and feel of these scissors. I use them every day for opening parcels, cereals etc. So easy to slice open tape and cut through stiff cardboard. Not for gardening or the such like as they are not designed for that. Use them within their operating parameters and they work flawlessly. I have found you can feel if you are asking too much of them. Great grips and terrific value for money.

I was happy with the weight, and how tightly the blades were put together. A lot of shears/scissors are too gappy, and won't cut consistently. That said, one handle broke after 2 years of infrequent use. 2 years would be great if I used them daily, but the occasional use they get means I'd expect a much longer lifespan.

Found that the generic scissor that came with my knife block was better than this one, I found that it didn't cut thru rib bones as easy and actually had a problem with it cutting thru paper. I'm going back to my cheap ones for now.
