Mercer Culinary Y Swiss Peeler, Black

It peels.

These have carbon steel blades, NOT stainless steel blades. It says so right in the description.They are very sharp and to keep them from rusting hand wash and towel dry. Maybe even wipe a little vegetable oil on the blade with a paper towel after hand washing. This is an excellent peeler for vegetables etc.

This is the best one. I’ve tried various others - some fancy and larger. But ultimately this one is my favorite, and for many years. Simple and most efficient.

Overall this unit feels like a cheap kids toy. Though it is well made in its finish and the blade cuts well for a peeler, the build "perceived" quality is low. Will it last? maybe... im not sure, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. Overall for $6 its not awful, though the feel in the hand leave a lot to be desired. But, if it works well, as it does, and it's inexpensive, which it is, I dont really have much bad to say. It's functional and we use it in our home bar without issue so far.

Chip build. Rust after few weeks usage. Purchased because of recommendation on BarFly. Not a good product.

Cheap, effective and simple. Not much more to it..

These peelers were easy to use, but apparently only good for one time use. All three have multiple areas of rust all over the black blades after the first time being run through the dishwasher. Apparently the blades are not stainless steel.

Received this peeler, felt a little light weight compared to my other brafly items, noticed on the other side it says Mercer Culinary.
