Peoples eyes bug out when I show them it, very happy
When I opened this and looked inside I just about past out, I never dreamed it would be as big as it is. It is a monster and will take down just about anything and everything you want. It makes my old one look like child’s play. I have a chair and a half and it almost is as big as the seat, if you put the Machete and its case in the seating area there isn’t much room left over. Very wide and sharp, it seems to be made well, love the wood saw and serrated edge. You should have no trouble taking anything down. It is a little heavy but makes you feel and look like the old might soldier when handling it. It should last for years with no problem. I am overly please with this product

The heavy duty machete I've been looking for
The blade is thick, rigid and full tang. Most machetes have thin blades that bend. This one is built like a large knife. Best o have found. Weak point is the grip. It is solid but very rough on your hands. You have to wear gloves to use it or your hand will have blisters.Update - I added some self fusing silicone tape that I bought on Amazon. It provides cushioning and soft grip to the machete handle so that gloves are not needed to use it. Now it is by far the best and strongest machete I've ever seen.

Better than expected
Great machete. Nice clean sharp edge for chopping or cutting. Rope cutting hook and serrated edge in 2 places makes the blade very versatile. The saw teeth are crazy they cut through wood like a hand saw nothing like anything I have experienced on a blade before. Then the handle is comfortable and very sturdy hard plastic. The blade alone is worth every penny but the sheath it comes with is super nice as well. Can be strapped to leg or pack. Has a plastic sleeve inside for blade to slide in and out of. Made out of tough nylon that looks and functions fantastic. Would happily buy again

Tip broke
Very sharp and easy to handle. 3 stars because the tip broke after about a month of use.

I Am Machete, Destroyer of Plants!
This is the Grim Reaper of vegetation! It cuts like a dream! Slices, Dices, Puree... oops, got a bit carried away there. This baby is wicked black, with an exotic assortment of serrations on both sides of the blade, and it comes with a heavy-duty and high-quality sheath. The handle-grip is heavy, with a nice woven pattern on it ... as Crocodile Dundee remarked, memorably - "Now THIS is a knife!"Well, it's a machete, but you get the point.

I Am Conan The Barbarian!
OK, maybe not. But holding this Luna Tech machete (sword) makes me feel like him, especially when worn in it's sheath over my back. I have used many types of machetes over the years to cut invasives and trim mangroves on our Southwest Florida property. The photo below shows three of my favorites along with this new monster Luna Tech model. From the left you will see the Esee Lite, the Condor Baryonx, the Cold Steel 97DEM, and our star of the hour, The Luna Tech. The four machetes all come in at about 23" long. The Esee and Cold Steel each weigh about 18 oz., the Condor at 26 oz., and the Luna Tech is probably around 48 oz.. In fact there is a dearth of information currently published about this machete and the company website is still under construction. As far as blade thickness, the Cold Steel is .0625", the Esee Lite is .075", the Condor is .089", and the Luna Tech .14". The steel used in the Esee and the Condor is 1075 carbon, the Cold Steel is made of 1055 carbon, and the Luna Tech is 440 stainless steel. The prices on these four are quite interesting. The Cold Steel model has been discontinued and ran about $17.00, THE Esee Lite runs about $76.00, and the Condor (if you can find it) costs about $70.00. The Luna Tech is currently priced at $238.00 Canadian which is about $182.00 US.What do you get for a machete that costs three times as much as the Esee and Condor? You get a large, heavy multi-purpose tool that gives you plenty of options in a survival situation. The blade is full tang, long and wide, and has a wood saw on top of the blade and a rope cutter on the top and bottom. Everything came extremely sharp and I was very cautious while handling it. I knew that if I dropped it point down on either of my feet that the blade would probably go right through my foot. I have never felt that way about other machetes! This machete demands respect -- it is massive.I have had rotator cuff surgery on both of my shoulders but can use my three favorites pretty much all day. The Luna Tech however would eventually cause me to put it down to avoid further damage to my shoulders. But when I use it, this beast really does the job. The smaller/lighter blades of my three favorites are very efficient at cutting smaller plants and branches. And being able to maintain a sharp blade and using a full slicing motion, it only takes a few swings to handle even much tougher jobs. That's important because of my advanced age. However the Luna Tech surprised me that such a stout blade could cause so much damage to large tree limbs. That of course is a function of its weight, sharpness and velocity of the swing. It wouldn't function as well on smaller branches unless you cut them closer to the trunk of the tree. Those small branches would just bend and then spring back if you attempt to cut it elsewhere along its length.Just to give you an example of how efficient this Luna Tech is, I was able to cut through various types of wood that were over 4" thick -- with one blow! It generates so much slicing power that you always have to be aware of any impediments (and your stance) that might cause a glancing blow or simply result in cutting yourself with your follow-through. An accidental cut with this machete would cause substantial damage. So handle and use it with the respect it deserves and requires. If I were forced to only take only two blades with me into the woods, one would be the Esee Lite and the other this Luna Tech monster. The Esee will handle all but the heaviest duties with ease while the Luna can be relied upon to slash or cut almost anything. If I could only take one, the Luna Tech is the obvious choice.

Not worth the money at all
As a professional land surveyor, this is the absolute worst machete you could ever possibly use considering the weight and handle. This machete weighs around 4-5 pounds and feels like you’re swinging a log splitting axe around all day. The handle may as well be a used tire threading, it’s far to aggressive for constant use and tears your hand a new one, and it isn’t fat enough, it’s much to thin and rolls very easily. I absolutely do not recommend this machete if you’re doing any surveying or a lot of cutting in rural areas. It’s sharp. That’s all there is to this thing.

Really nice machete
This Luna Tech machete is very impressive. It has several serrated edges for sawing, and a really large blade. The handle has a nice grip. It comes with a very sturdy sheath that has straps and snaps on the back of it for carrying or attaching to the belt or other items. Ours did not come with instructions.
