Strawberry Island-20 Chandler Strawberry Plants

I ordered 20 Chandler Bare Root Strawberries. They arrived in good shape and on time. I now have 23 very healthy strawberry plants. Excellent quality and service.

Strawberry Plants arrived yesterday. Beautiful baby Strawberry plants! I actually got 30 plants and all but 2 were very healthy. I followed the instructions on the soil mixture given on the website to the letter. All planted and ready to grow! I have them on a covered patio and move out into the sun for the early morning rays. Then around 10AM put them back in the shade. I'm misting them with a spray bottle so as not to over saturate the roots. Cannot wait to see how they grow.

This was a great deal. Had my doubts when they arrived but I followed the directions by wetting down the roots overnight. Planted them next day. 3 days later they have all new leaves and are growing nicely. They even included 4 extra plants! Great seller and fabulous product! You can't go wrong with veteran owned companies.

Five of the plants have already died! They were well cared for or all of them would have died.

After receiving the Strawberry Island - 20 Chandler Strawberry Plants, I opened the package and separated the roots. All 21 roots appeared healthy with some containing wilted leaves and some without leaves. Planted 4 roots in potting cups and the other 17 in my garden (10/10/24). When the potted plants grow a little, I'll set them out in the garden. I live in zone 8a and we're looking forward to fresh strawberries in May 2025.After 8 days, all but 1 have healthy-looking leaves. The 1 without leaves was planted in a potting cup but looks as if it will survive.Many thanks to Hand Picked Nurseries in Benson, NC for prompt shipment.

I have been ordering strawberry starts online for years and the ones I ordered from Hand Picked Nursery were the best I've ever received. Wonderfully healthy plants that are thriving today. I highly recommend!!

I received 22 bare roots with no sign of forming leaves all packed in a plastic bag (no protection whatsoever!). From experience, I could see right away that they won't grow, yet I gave them a chance and planted them. By now, I know that planting was a waste of time and effort. Out of 22 rotten roots, not a single one lived. I was hoping that if I have one, I would then be able to propagate them, but can't even do that with no "survivors". This is by far the worst experience I ever had buying plants for my garden, and it's a complete waste of money. I guess other people were luckier than me with this seller. I'll have to spend again and buy from another seller.

I bought these last year for my green stalk planters. That batch had 5”+ roots and a large bud. This year, they’re much smaller and I have about half the germination rate. Very disappointed to say the least.
