The Magic Sleepsuit is a patented swaddle transition product that helps transition babies from the swaddle by providing them with a cozy, secure feeling. The Magic Sleepsuit was created by a mother of four who is a pediatric physical therapist to improve the quality and duration of her babies' sleep. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed for back sleeping in the bare crib only in a room at the recommended temperature for babies. The Magic Sleepsuit should not be used for co-sleeping, or with any sleep positioners. The Microfleece Magic Sleepsuit has a soft, breathable jersey cotton inner layer, a soft microfleece outer layer and a layer of polyfil in between for just enough comfort. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to be introduced at approximately three months of age when babies are transitioning from the swaddle. Babies should be transitioned out of the Magic Sleepsuit when they roll over or try to roll over in it and are ready for more freedom of movement in their sleep. The Magic Sleepsuit provides your baby with a cozy and calming sleep environment that will become a consistent part of their sleep routine. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to aid in baby's sleep patterns, and give parents peace of mind that their baby is getting adequate rest necessary for appropriate growth and development.

Outstanding product!
My 3 1/2 month old son uses a swaddle every night. Lately he has been fighting it and getting his arms free and is seconds away from rolling. I read online that swaddling one arm for a week and then losing the swaddle completely is a good way to get them used to having their little arms free. However, his startle reflex is still super prevalent and he frequently woke up the first night without it. In a 3 am groggy haze, I found this WONDERFUL michelin man looking outfit. It was not only affordable, but also delivered the very next day. We have had it for 3 nights now and this thing has my son sleeping within 10 minutes!!! He normally gets pretty frustrated and has a relatively difficult time falling asleep. This definitely helps assist with sleep training too because he can fall asleep comfortably without us having to hold him every time. I will say, I am thankful it’s winter because it’s such a warm outfit, as you can imagine. 100% recommending this to my friends with infants.

People are amazed at how well my baby sleeps in the "space suit"
See below for the review that I posted for the yellow sleepsuit. Both sleepsuits are the same and equally awesome; however, I do wish that I had purchased two gender-neutral suits instead of one pink and one yellow, because I plan to lend these out to other parents (and not all parents would be willing to put their baby boys in a pink marshmallow). This is by far the most important purchase that I made for my baby, my husband, and myself. I recommend it to every new parent I meet who has a baby with sleep issues and even experienced parents (my sister-in-law is going to try it with her second baby). Some of the mothers I recommended this sleepsuit to tried it with their own babies, and they found that their babies were sleeping for about eight-hour stretches at night shortly after they started using the suit. Before I started putting my daughter in the suit to sleep, I was recovering from severe postpartum depression and in major need of consistent sleep so that I could be the best version of myself for my baby. My two-month-old daughter was sleeping okay, with her longest stretch probably about five or six hours. She hated being swaddled and could break out of the tightest swaddle from when she was a couple of weeks old. The instructor in my mothers' group offhandedly recommended this sleepsuit, but I wrote the name down since I was willing to try out anything to help my daughter sleep. She was below the recommended age for the suit, and it was way too big for her, but I made some adjustments (like rolling up the sleeves) so that she was secure inside. The first night she slept okay, maybe six hours. She did cry at first when I put her in, and it took a couple of nights for her to get used to the sleepsuit. By the end of the first week using the sleepsuit, she was sleeping eight hours per night on average. Now, at five months, she is sleeping 12-13 hours at night (with no late night feedings) with two 2-4 hour naps in the suit. This is great for both of us, since she gets the sleep she needs to develop, and I have time to recharge and even time to work from home during the day.I can tell that a lot of the credit for her sleeping so well goes to the sleepsuit. Whenever I put her down for a nap without the suit, she sleeps much less. I suppose that is my only concern regarding the suit--transitioning her out of it. I already ordered the 6-9 month version, but I will probably start trying to transition her out of it fairly soon so that the transition goes more smoothly.I would almost say that the suit works too well. My five-month-old baby sleeps about 18 hours per day, so it can be hard to get out of the house and do things with her. The other thing that could be considered an issue but that hasn't really been a problem for me is that the suit really restricts what the baby can wear to bed. I usually put my daughter in just a diaper and a onesie before putting her in the suit. One night I tried putting her in just a diaper, but she managed to wriggle out of the suit, so I definitely would recommend against doing that, especially for babies on the smaller side. One final weird issue that I have had with the suit is that my mother-in-law, who babysits my daughter about twice a week, is afraid to put my daughter in the suit, because you do have to use a little bit of force to get the baby's arms through the sleeves.I could probably say more about how much I love this sleepsuit, but I think that's enough for now!

Finally something that works!
Our 8 month old daughter would only contact sleep meaning she had to be touching me in order to sleep. We have tried so many things to get her to sleep on her own and this is the only thing that works! The comfort & structure the suit provides allows us to put her to sleep and then put her down in her crib without her waking up. When she’s sleepy she now even crawls to her sleep suit and lays on it so we know she’s ready to go to sleep and as soon as we put her in it she falls asleep and sleeps well in her crib FINALLY. As a sleep deprived first time mom, I can’t speak more highly of this product.I saw other reviews of developmental concerns I wanted to add my comments on from my experience to hopefully help in deciding to purchase this or not. I saw a comment that it can delay in the development of rolling over and crawling. We started using this once our daughter was 8 months old, when she had already reached the milestones of rolling over and crawling. The suit aids in my daughter feeling comfortable to sleep but is not so stiff that she can’t move around in it when she finally wakes up. When she wakes up in the morning she rolls over and pulls herself to standing on her crib and waits for us to get her. It does not restrict her movement to the point where she can’t move & we only put this on her WHEN ITS TIME TO SLEEP not any other time and take it off as soon as she wakes. It also aids in her sleeping on her back (per our pediatrician, it’s safest for babies to sleep on their backs) and prevents her from rolling over in her sleep, but she’s able to move her head side to side freely. We have no issues with flat head. Also, you would need to ensure the temperature in the room is cool enough to prevent overheating in this suit.I thought I’d never see the day she can sleep in her crib. If you have a similar situation as ours, I would recommend to make the purchase it’s worth every penny in my opinion.

We all sleep well with the Merlin <3
We struggled with startle reflex as our LO hated swaddling. This was the best alternative. Buy. The. Merlin. Our LO outgrew the small size & we were trying other wraps and sacks we had on hand in the middle of the 4month sleep regression. I would have given a kidney to ship the large Merlin overnight. Fortunately, Amazon made it possible to get it with two day delivery. It's not weighted but bc it's so thick it acts as a little bit of a "weighted" blanket. Keeps them from thrashing around.Maybe wouldn't use if you can't get the inside temp below 75°F.
