This product worked perfectly once I paired it to my car’s RFID chip. The problem was that when activated, it makes a loud clicking sound as the lock disengages. That sound was just too startling to my cat. We used this on an indoor enclosure to help this cat get her food without it getting stolen by our more aggressive cat. She just couldn’t get over the clicking sound, unfortunately. Wouldn’t use it no matter how we enticed her.

First off, I rarely write reviews, but I think this product deserves a review.I have 3 cats that spend time indoors and outdoors. It became a routine opening and closing doors all day long to let them in or out.I took the chance to invest in this item as I'm from the Caribbean and wasn't sure if the chips we use would work. I prefer not to use the collar with chip to avoid them getting tangled or loosing the easy release collars.I first contacted the vet to see if the chips match the codes provided in the summary on Amazon, but she wasn't sure. I went ahead and purchased the cat door and up until now I'm not disappointed.My cat's come and go as they please, and they complain far less, one cat in particular is very vocal about her wants. Installing this door has given her and the other two a piece of mind, not to mention my entire family😃.The only downside is how loud it unlocks, my reason for deducting a star. My cats also found it difficult to push through the door due to the strenght of the magnets, and how loud it bangs close once they enter or leave. One cat was discouraged by the sounds, so after some researching, I made some minor modifications.I removed one of the magnets and added a small sponge to the flaps where it hits when closing. As you can see in the picture I left one battery out to avoid them hearing the loud clicks when approaching the door. I will install the batteries once they are more comfortable using the door. I had to pin the door open the first couple days and place their food next to it, for them to get comfortable with the idea they can leave the house through it. They are slowly figuring out how to use it, however, they are not used to pushing with their heads so they use their paws to open it a little then walk through. I have to remind one cat occasionally how to use it by physically pushing her head gently against the door, but she's getting there.I installed it in 8 inch blocks, so I needed the additional accessories.It has only been 5 days, so I will give them about a week more before trying it with the batteries.Seriously this cat door is a game changer, my cat's are so quiet and seems much more stress free.I hope this review helps someone.

I wanted to like this cat door. It got delivered pretty fast for an international delivery and it was a great price. It also seems well made. It got mostly good reviews, except for the ones where that cats got their paws or tails stuck and injuries happened. I can see how that would happen if your cat does not have enough room to go forward and get out of the way of the opening. I made a feeding box for my cat, rather than using this for an outside door. I wanted my two cats to be able to eat separately since one cat is on Science Diet and the other isn't. I taped my door open so the cat could learn how to go through it first. A few times, I saw how he would stop at the first kibble if there was some outside of the bowl. His tail was laying over the door/tunnel opening. It wasn't a problem since it was taped open.I am returning this door after having it long enough to see that my cat was struggling with getting his back leg over the ridge that is in the middle of the tunnel. It was a lot smaller that it seemed and yes, I paid attention to the dimensions. He would put his head in fine, then one front leg, but then he had to work a little to get his other front leg. he got that down a little better after a few days. The part he had the most trouble with was when he had to get his back legs in. He could get one leg in, but the last one, he really had to work to get it over a ridge that's right in the middle of the tunnel. Maybe a larger/taller door would work. He's a little over 9lbs, but he's not slim/lanky, though either. I wish the larger pet doors were comparable in price to this one.

There is an available collar add-on your pet can wear as a key to unlock the door. It works. But my furry friend threw off her collar as a sign of feline solidarity, quickly regretting this move as she could no longer open her door. I will try and add a separate, approved, chip that "WILL" access the door.

Good product, long battery life, easy to install. Our cat had access and no other cats were able to enter. But, this cat door is definitely not raccoon proof. They simply pull it open from the outside to enter. It can be manually locked, but that defeats the purpose for us. Now switching to a dual chip door.

The thing works. It was easy to install in a quarter inch thick panel I installed in a corner of my pool enclosure. I need a locking door because raccoons want to get into the pool enclosure to get at a cat feeder. Anyway, the only difficulty was catching the cats and sticking their heads into the tunnel. They already had been 'chipped', and the thing recognized them just like the instructions suggested. So now my pool area is raccoon proof and the cats can come and go.

Für unseren lieben Kater brauchten wir einen seperaten Eingang, da er sich mit der Katzendame eine Etage unter uns nicht versteht und sie getrennte Ein/Ausgangsmöglichkeiten bekommen sollten. Da wir ihn aus dem Tierheim haben und er gechipt ist, lag eine Katzenklappe mit Chiperkennung nahe. Also haben wir diese Katzenklappe mit Chiperkennung bestellt. Einen Tag später war sie da und wurde auch sogleich in die Kellertür integriert. Dies ging absolut problemlos.Nun ging es ans Anlernen des Chips. Vorweg sei gesagt, dass unser Kater Katzenklappen kennt, da wir in der Wohnungstür eine analoge/nicht elektrische Katzenklappe haben und er durch diese mit vollem Schwung durch springt. Also haben wir versucht unseren ihn mit Leckerlies durch die Klappe zu locken. Klappe auf Anlernmodus gestellt und schnell nach draußen und Tür zu. Naja, unseren lieben Kater interessierte das Leckerlie nicht wirklich. Er hat die Klappe erst einmal ausgiebig inspiziert und beschnuppert und als die 60 Sekunden Anlernzeit um waren, war er mit dem Kopf noch nicht einmal ansatzweise in der Klappe. Dies ging mehrere Tage so. Nachts ist er durch die neue Klappe raus und Morgens wenn die Tür gerade mal offen war, schnell rein gesprintet. So gingen die Tage ins Land und wir schafften es nicht, der neuen Katzenklappe unseren Kater bekannt zu machen.Letztlich habe ich die Klappe wieder ausgebaut, mit in die Wohnung genommen und dort geöffnet. Die eigentliche Klappe kann in diesem Zustand heraus genommen werden, was ich tat. Da unser Kater gerade unter dem Tisch friedlich und entspannt lag, habe ich den Anlernmodus gestartet, die Klappe gehalten und meine Freundin hat ihm ein Leckerlie vor die andere Seite der Klappe gehalten. Schlau wie er ist, ging er um die Klappe herum. Aber nach etwas Probieren klappte es dann endlich. Langsam und gemütlich spazierte durch die Katzenklappe ohne Klappe. Die Katzenklappe reagierte, wie in der Anleitung beschrieben, entsperrte die Klappe und beendete den Anlernmodus. Ganze 3 mal haben wir ihn danach noch mit Leckerlies durch die Klappe gelockt. Jedes mal entsperrte die Klappe. Der Chip war folglich endlich programmiert, die Klappe kannte nun unseren Kater.Also Klappe wieder in die Kellertür eingebaut. Während die Programmierung noch mit handelsüblichen Alkaline Batterien statt fand, habe ich inzwischen auf 1,5V Lithiumakkus im Mignonformat gewechselt. In den folgenden 2 Tagen spazierte unser Kater jeden Abend über die Klappe heraus und kam Morgens wieder. Allerdings war nie wirklich klar, ob er über die Klappe rein kam, oder günstige Gelegenheiten offener Türen abgepasst hat. Daher habe ich ihn heute vor die Tür gelockt, selbige direkt hinter ihm zu gemacht und mit Leckerlie wieder rein gelockt. Als er das Leckerlie sah, kam er zur Katzenklappe. Die grüne LED leuchtete auf, was bedeutet, dass der Bewegungsmelder der Katzenklappe ausgelöst hat. Sekundenbruchteile später entsperrte die Klappe laut hörbar und unser Kater kam in den Keller gesprintet, um sich das Leckerlie abzuholen. Nach gefühlt 5 Sekunden, unser Kater hatte sich zumindest bereits übers Leckerlie her gemacht, verriegelte die Katzenklappe wieder. Die Klappe funktioniert folglich problemlos und unser Kater kann nun jederzeit das Haus verlassen bzw. wieder nach Hause kommen.Durch seine Erfahrungen mit Katzenklappen, ist er mutig geworden und stupst sie nicht mehr mit der Pfote auf, wie er es anfangs tat. Inzwischen drückt er sie mit dem Kopf auf und sprintet mit voller Geschwindigkeit durch, was sich oft anhört, als würde er die Katzenklappe aus der Tür reißen. Und das ist auch gut so. Denn bei dieser Katzenklappe muss er mit dem Kopf vorran, da sonst sein Chip zu spät gelesen wird.Die Lithiumakkus scheinen die Erkennungsgenauigkeit der Katzenklappe zu steigern. Mignon-Lithiumakkus behalten über fast die gesamte Nutzungszeit ihre volle Spannung (1,5V), während konventionelle Batterien langsam an Spannung verlieren. Dadurch wird die Klappe nahezu immer mit voller Akkuleistung versorgt, selbst wenn die Akkus nahezu leer sind. Da der Chiperkkennung damit stets volle Akkuleistung zur Verfügung steht, ist die Erkennungsgenaugikeit entsprechend hoch. Allerdings sackt die Spannung am Ende der Lebenszeit plötzlich rapide ab. Daher ist bei Verwendung solcher LithiumMignonAkkus ein regelmäßiges Wechselinterval sinnvoll. Diese Akkus sind zwar reichlich teuer, dafür können sie wieder aufgeladen werden und man spart sich das Geld ständig neuer Batterien, sowie Batteriemüll.Alles in allem, tut die Katzenklappe was sie soll. Für die Weigerung unseres Katers im Anlernmodus durch die Klappe zu spazieren, kann die Klappe nichts. Von daher, kann ich diese Katzenklappe zum gegenwärtigen Zeitpunkt empfehlen. Auf Grund unserer Erfahrungen des Betriebs mit Li-MignonAkkus, kann ich diese Art der Stromversogung der Katzenklappe klar empfehlen.

Il faut savoir un peu bricoler et avoir un minimum de matériel (scie sauteuse, perceuse, etc...). Après avoir découpé le passage aux dimensions, le montage se fait rapidement et sans pb. Le patron de découpe est assez pratique. Installée sur une porte en bois de la dépendance. Le matériel est de bonne qualité. Mais la porte de la chatière me parait moins solide et elle n'est pas vraiment étanche. A voir. Pour la programmation il faut bien lire la doc, surtout utilisez des piles de qualité et faites la programmation chatière non montée sur la porte (ou ailleurs). Sinon le chat va vite vous envoyez balader et vous n’arriverez à rien. La détection de la puce a été rapide (2/3 sec). Au début, le clic de (dé)verrouillage peut surprendre votre chat, il faudra qu'il s'y fasse, le mien s'est vite habitué, pour lui c'est la bouffe avant tout ;) Globalement, ça fonctionne pas mal. En cas d'absence, par sécurité, si la chatière se bloque (chat à l'intérieur), je remplis le distributeur de croquettes et d'eau avec le double du nécessaire (absence de 2 jours = 4 jours de nourriture). L'extérieur il sait gérer tout seul, il a l'habitude et il ne risque pas grand chose). Y'a certainement mieux mais c'est certainement plus cher aussi. Donc faut voir à l'usage (durée des piles, étanchéité, résistance au froid et au chaud, usure, détection de la puce). Pour le prix mon chat Nestor rentre et sort en toute liberté. Libre et heureux et donc nous aussi.

If you get this for a kitten/smaller cat or perhaps even just whilst you're teaching a regular size cat I would reccomend removing the magnet attached to the flap as it is quite strong and required too much force for my kittens to push through the flap.The magnet comes off fairly easily if you pull from the corner and work your way around the plastic clips and does not prevent the lock system from working.I don't think there will be any issues re-attaching when they are bigger if we feel it's needed (the flaps aren't installed on our house door but rather our shed which is sheltered so wind blowing isn't an issue for us)If not for this I might have had to return the flaps so it would be good if this was highlighted as it seems like a good feature.

Ich habe lange überlegt, welche Katzentür ich nehmen soll, die Rezensionen waren bei allen nicht besonders gut. Vor allem hat mich das Feedback, dass die Batterie nicht hält, zögern lassen. Bei mir hält die Batterie allerdings sehr lange (schon einige Monate, ich habe die Tür jetzt ca. 1,5 Jahre). Darüber war ich sehr froh. Leider hat man keine Anzeige, ob die Batterie noch reicht, oder nicht (aber so weit ich weiß auch nicht bei anderen Türen in dem Preissegment).Das Klack-Geräusch ist so laut wie man es sich erwartet. Meine Katze ist extrem ängstlich und es war ein hartes, längeres Training, bis sie durchgegangen ist. Der Klack hat sie natürlich erschreckt, aber wir haben es letztendlich geschafft.Was leider auch nicht so vorteilhaft ist - ist dass der Chip manchmal recht spät bzw. gar nicht erkannt wird. Einmal war meine Katze schon komplett mit dem Kopf in der Tür und der Chip wurde nicht erkannt. Prinzipiell muss die Katze definitiv mit dem Kopf im Durchgang sein, damit der Chip erkannt wird. Das hat das Training nicht gerade leichter gemacht. Jetzt hat sie aber den Dreh raus und kommt gut durch die Türe.2x hatten wir allerdings den Fall, dass die Türe nicht mehr funktioniert hat (Katze kam in der Nacht nicht wie gewohnt rein. Selbst als ich sie regelrecht in den Tunnel gehalten habe, passierte nichts). Die Ursache ist mir noch immer nicht klar - ob Batterieproblem oder einfach die Chiperkennung wieder mal nicht geklappt hat. Sie hat kurze Zeit später nämlich wieder funktioniert und ich habe nur 1 Batterie nach Zufall ausgetauscht.Wir hatten früher schon mal eine PetSafe (Staywell?) Türe und das alte Loch hat für diese Türe noch gepasst. Die Batterien halten lange, also nicht nur 2 Wochen, wie ich es teilweise gelesen hatte. Bei uns ist die Türe am Ende eines Kellerabgangs (überdacht). Da gehen sicher nicht viele Tiere vorbei. Das könnte evtl. den Bewegungsmelder und somit die Batterie schonen? Bin keine Expertin :)Alles in allem finde ich die Tür nach all den negativen Rezensionen bei den Türen, die für mich in Frage kamen, in Ordnung, weil sie die meiste Zeit gut funktioniert.Ich würde sie jedenfalls nochmal kaufen. Perfekt scheint in dem Preissegment keine Katzentüre zu sein.

Personnellement, je trouve la chatière un peu petite. Mon chat pèse environ 6 kg.Il a vraiment beaucoup de mal à comprendre le système de la chatière et en est même terrifié.L'apprentissage est vraiment compliqué, surtout pour faire rentrer l'animal car le bruit émis par le déverrouillage du battant l'effraie.Sinon, le produit est bien conçu et facile à installer.
