Quality Paper
In my opinion, Strathmore produces excellent quality paper for sketching.The sheets are thick and flat, plus the quality of paper is consistent from batch to batch. When I am teaching a drawing class, this is the paper I recommend to my students.Makes a great gift for the budding artist.

Almost exclusive use personally
I love Strathmore, consistently awesome quality. I buy a couple a year and am never disappointed. Make sure you pay attention to the fine details about paper weight and color. Also the Strathmore series is color coded by cover brown seems to be the highest quality, get yellow for medium quality.
