Good mouthpiece
Performed just like the reviewed said. Good overall from screamer notes to pedal tones as well! If you are looking for a mouthpiece I would recommend this as well. I swapped from a Vincent Bach 3c Megatone to this and I feel much more comfortable with my tone and sound! Good for marching, concert and jazz band.

First new mouthpiece since music school
I played on a Laskey 80MC through my years at music school. I refused to switch at the time because I felt my tone quality would suffer. I put my horn down for a long time after college because it was too difficult to play and I wasn't working as a musician. This mouthpiece made a huge difference out of the box after not practicing for some time. The responsiveness is impressive and it's much easier to find the effortless center of a pitch. High notes came out easily without strength or conditioning. The tone quality is bright but vibrant. It lacks the depth of tone I can produce on a larger mouthpiece but makes up for it with responsiveness. If you dont have to produce a huge symphonic sound this mouthpiece will make playing the trumpet fun.

Very nice!
I've been switching between a Bach 7C and 1C for many years, depending on whether I want rich tone down low or the ability to reach a little higher on the scale. This is as easy or easier to play than the 7C, with nice tone through the whole scale. Really nice sound, and easy to play.I almost bought the plastic version from Kelly Mouthpieces, but the price for this brass version was the same.

Good feel and good range
I've been playing a differen brand MP for the past several years but lately is doesn't seem very bright in the middle ranges. I've been wanting to try a Shew MP for a while so I bought the Jazz model. It has a narowwer rim but gives me a good range. Above the staff it is clear and strong and it sounds good in the middle range. When I started with it, it didn't slot well but now it works very well. I still need some work but I like it.

cheaper than buying in Japan
My YTR-8310Z (2nd generation) came with the Bobby Shew jazz mouthpiece. It's similar to a Bach 3C. I wanted a 2nd identical mouthpiece for my 2nd house. (I forgot to bring it once.) Glad to buy it cheaper than in Tokyo.Just so you know ... I asked Yamaha for finger rings (O-shaped) instead of saddles (U-shaped). Please see photo. Cost 3000 yen per ring. Work on modification requests is performed at the Yamaha factory in batches several times a year, that is, modification orders from different customers are pooled until there is enough volume for the technicians to do them. I waited exactly 4 months.

IT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME
With mouthpieces you never know if they will work for you until you actually try it.I tried the Jazz mouthpiece hoping for the best, but for me it wasn't worth keeping. Both the sound and ease of playing were inferior to my Schilke.

Great Mouthpiece
Worked way better than my previous Bach 7c and is much more comfy on the lips. 5/5 stars.
