This Worked So Much Better than I Could Have Imagined!
We recently purchased a new home that has a gravel driveway. My son wanted to get some new gravel in the garage driveway and circular driveway in the front as the old stuff was getting thin. He came with the load and we spent 2 hours trying to spread it by hand which was a big mistake. Although we tried different dump patterns with the 4 yards of stone, there was always too much here, not enough there and it took a bit of work to move it around with a gravel rake.I went on the web and found this along with an example of how it was used and ordered it. My son actually laughed at me thinking I was being taken for a ride by some "gimmick". Well, we got the package in, put it together (quickly) and attached it to our riding lawn mower. In about 1/2 hour that tool did more than we did in 2 hours and did it more uniformly and with ease. My son was shocked and I was very satisfied. If you have gravel or dirt you want spread evenly throughout your yard, this will make you very happy. As you can see, I have two pictures here and you can see the "channel" that lies in the middle that is made for 16" bricks. You can use none, 1 or more, each providing strength to move denser material. With the pea gravel I didn't need to use any, but did try one and made a difference in how it was spread with the brick in the front or the rear.Hope this helps - but I couldn't wait to let others know the "easy" way to take care of moving dirt/stone evenly.

An economical and sturdy solution for gravel and dirt roads.
We have lived on a gravel mountain road for 5 years. Our home has a turnaround in front that gets the gravel pushed to the sides from winter plowing. Then the freeze thaw results in mud ruts. We were in desperate need of some road maintenance. The assembly instructions aren't very good. Some of the spacers included were the wrong size. I made it work anyway. I hitched this to a Polaris Ranger and added three cinder blocks and strapped them down. I was pleasantly surprised how well this worked on some hard packed clay. It took many turns around the turnaround to get the gravel loosened and evenly spread, but I'm very happy with the results. Will get some pics when the sun comes back up. -1 star for parts issue.

Works great on loosened dry soil
Used it to level 2 acres of neglected field in California. Rotor tilled the field first to get the top 3 inches broken up, let it dry a few days and then used this rake with 4 concrete blocks to level the area. I pulled out with a 700cc Honda side by side and it definitely made it work hard but it pulled it fine, I then seeded with a broadcast spreader and then rolled using a garden tractor and roller. End result is an area that is smooth and compact enough to lay sod if I wanted to. I'm very pleased with the simplicity and strength of the rake. It is really good value.

Thrilled!
The media could not be loaded. This was amazingly adept and useful from the 1st pull. I'm an older lady over 60 and had it together and working by myself in 40 minutes. Plenty of spare pieces and easy instructions for assembly. Reading a few of the other reviews regarding assembly, I was kind of worried, but now realize once you drop the whiney man from the equation, it all comes together fine LOL.My use was for a hard, tough horse arena that sets up like stone. It hadn't been dragged or leveled in 3 years and was full of puddles, mudpits, and horse digs. Twice over with this and it was smooth and like new.Added bonus is it folds up, and is weight manageable for an older lady to move it around on her own, as well as for storage. Can't wait to acquire 2 more cinderblocks to test it some more.

Good Product, missing a part when it arrived
Upon arrived, I did a piece count check and thought I had all the pieces. A short connector piece on the outside was missing... I had thought the two outside pieces were stuck together because their is a paint seam down each side. I had the whole thing almost completely together before I realized my mistake. I decided to fabricate a new piece with some old steal I had so I could get going. Due to the inexpensiveness of this product compared to others that do this same work, I was surprised how well this worked. I also did have to rig up a way to hold a couple cement blocks on, they tended to bounce off on my rocky driveway. It would be nice to get the right part or compensation, but it was far too late putting this together when I realized the piece was missing.

Gets the Job Done!
Very happy with this product. Good value, easy to set up and it does a solid job of smoothing out both my gravel driveway and cleaning up a dirt path I am working on. I’ve been using two cement blocks to weigh it down and think I will go with three or even four, more to keep the grader stable and the blocks from sliding off than to dig in deeper.
