Ouran Academy: an institution of extravagance and prestige where learning comes secondary to luxury. And nothing proves this more than the school's beloved Host Club—a club staffed with the truly elite, and the most handsome members on campus. For scholarship student Haruhi Fujioka, studying is top priority over wasting time at the school's frivolous clubs. But that changes when Haruhi stumbles upon the Host Club, a stumble that leaves the freshman indebted for millions of yen! The only way to pay for the damages? Haruhi will have to play host—without giving away the fact that she's a girl!

A great comedy anime
Haruhi Fujioka is a highly intelligent honours student who only got into the incredibly prestigious Ouran High School due to a scholarship. While looking for a quiet place to study, Haruhi stumbles upon the school's Host Club and accidently breaks an expensive vase. Forced to join the eccentric club to pay off the debts, Haruhi must work as a host and entertain a thousand girls, while keeping the fact that she is a girl herself a secret. This four disc set includes all twenty-four episodes of the very amusing 'Ouran High School Host Club'. A reverse harem comedy, 'Ouran' is probably one of the funniest anime that I have seen with a good mixture of slapstick and romantic comedy alongside some surprisingly well developed characters. In fact, it is probably the characters who make this series so great with all of them being very interesting people with their own quirks and it is the episodes that focus on developing these characters that are my favourites. Of the characters, the twins and Honey-sempai who I enjoy watching the most but all of the main characters (and a few of the one-off ones as well) are great. The anime is based on a manga and while I haven't read the source material, from what I have gathered there are quite a few differences between the two here and there. The set includes both the original Japanese version as well as the English dub with the latter being reasonably good. All the English voices are perfect for their roles with Vic Mignogna as Tamaki, J. Michael Tatum as Kyouya and Monica Rial as Renge being my favourites. Both the opening and ending songs have been dubbed into English and while the opening is reasonably good, the ending is a little painful at some points (Justin Houston can't seem to hold some of the notes unfortunately). One problem with the English version is that there doesn't seem to be a way to have subtitles just for the captions, you have to have both the captions and the voices.Special features for the set are rather light, including only a number of trailers and some pages from the manga.Overall 'Ouran High School Host Club' is a very entertaining series that any fan of comedy anime should enjoy and is easily worth a full five stars.

Fantastic anime for a great price
A great anime which is incredibly smart and funny. From observation, typically the lower quality anime out there tend to come at a lower price and in order to get the good stuff you either have to spend a lot or bide your time for reductions (or download/steam from the internet but risk having poor quality). But while this seems like one of those more cheaper priced anime series' , it certainly speaks more for it's price tag so really don't let the reasonable price on Amazon turn you off. It really is one of those rare gems where it's great but can still buy it for a good price.Haruhi is a student of modest means who attends the exclusive and elite Ouran Academy on a scholarship. While looking for a quiet place to study, she comes across the Host Club, a group of handsome boys with too much time on their hands who cater to the whims of young ladies with also too much time on their hands, and they practically draft her in to repay the cost of smashing one of their antique vases. However, at first they believe that she's a he due to her short messy hair, baggy boyish clothes and concealing geeky glasses. But one by one over the course of the first episode, each member in the club discovers that Haruhi is actually girl until finally Tamaki, the club's president, discovers in the last moments of the episode. But by then it's too late, Haruhi has received a makeover which turns her into a somewhat handsome boy and seems to be a natural host, something which she actually likes and deems it the fastest way to repay her debt. And that's just the first episode! From there, it all kicks off with Haruhi participating in the events of the Host Club, many of which she openly lambasts at and cringes at for their over-extravagance and somewhat cheesy themes, while also trying to not get mad at the members for their naivety and misconceptions of "commoners". Slowly, we learn about the other members also and find that perhaps there is more to them than just being a bunch of handsome, rich boys. It's truly a bundle of laughs and also does have it's sweet moments. Thoroughly recommended!
