Best Friends by Sheri Meow Hut in Fur Cover Dome Cat and Dog Bed, Wheat, Small

We are happily on our 2nd Cat Cave by Best Friend by Sheri. Our first one has been a great home for our (former) feral cat and has held up beautifully for over a year of use. It looks brand new actually. We needed a new bed for our 2nd (formerly) feral cat whose bed was starting to look quite old. I was grateful to find that the cat beds by Sheri were still on Amazon, so quickly ordered a 2nd bed. What I love about these is that they are quite sturdy because of a strong base, and the fur fabric is well made. The opening is quite wide, which makes it easy for me to view the kitties when trying to locate them. The padding is thick and nicely constructed. These are definitely not the cheapest cat caves on the market but the price is in the well affordable cat bed range for what is on websites. In all actuality in terms of longevity with our first bed, it has lasted much longer and still looks much much nicer than ones in the past at a higher price. Not only are they adorable to look at ( I love the fur ears) but the sturdy base is a winner with me, because they do not scoot around on the floor at our house at all. Cheaper made ones tend to flip or flop and move all over. To say I am pleased with these cat beds is an understatement! I am super impressed.

A friend gave us a Meow Hut’s (seen in the last few photos on the left) and felt like our cats were fighting over it, so ordered another one.The photo of the mint green hut and Meow Hut is to show the size comparison with another brand (mint green hut), the size small Meow Hut is way bigger than the mint green hut, which is good. It gives the cats room to stretch out or change positions. This Meow Hut is sturdy and soft. There’s also room to add a little blanket in you’d like to. Our smaller cat likes both size huts but likes to steal the bigger one if her sister is around :).Photos of the box are to show how it was packaged and on its side to show what it looked like when I removed it from the Amazon box. I was a little worried at first. But it bounces into shape once you remove it and push out the back side and add the insertable pad that it comes with. I love the grey as it matches our decor.Our cat in all photos but the last one is approx. 9 lbs. and you can see in on photo how she’s stretched out. Our other cat (white paws) is 11lbs and she has plenty of room in the size small, too. The older Meow Hut has a thicker/fuzzier pad, but the hut is the same size and the hut seems to be as durable. The video is the old Meow Hut to show what the small looks like with an 11lb cat in there. I’m mentioning the size small so others can determine if this size is right for them. Since we got the first one as a gift, I didn’t know what size it was, but it is the size small.I wish they would make the pad thicker like in the older one. It seems to be a trend lately that companies are doing what they can to decrease their costs (for example making the pad less fluffy) and the products were better in earlier models.

I’ve bought this twice now. The first time for our first kitty. She did not like it. We bought a cat tree, this bed, and another bed all at the same time. She uses the other bed and the cat tree, but not this bed. I then got a second cat. We have a covered litter box that she kept hiding in that is white, and she is smaller than our other cat so I figured this would be perfect for her. No. She does not like this either. She’d rather sleep on the couch. To be honest, I think this bed is so cute and goes well with my decor which is why I tried it twice. It is flat and not too plush on the inside. It is also very light weight. Unfortunately, my kitties just don’t like it and I have to return.

Cat likes it, but one of the ears is wonky and isn't pointy like the other one. A little irritated about that, but the cat actually uses it, so that's the most important part.

Exactly what I wanted for my kitty

We were experiencing daily showdowns as our cats would wrestle to see who would get to lay in the bed for their mid-day naps! Both of them absolutely adore this bed, so we will likely end up buying two :) The size small bed is an excellent fit for our 6 Ib & 13 Ib kitty.
