Great Kit!
I had never tried to replace the cane seat in a chair but I figured what the heck, I'll give it a try. I ordered this kit from Amazon and started on the project. The hardest part was removing the old seat and cleaning out the space for the new spline. The old spline was very difficult to remove because it was glued in with something other than water soluble white glue. After I finally got it removed and 4 blisters on my hands I proceeded with soaking the cane material and spline in warm water. Luckily I had a large sink in our basement where I was working. After about a 30 minute soak I found a YouTube video that guided me through each step and it turned out great. The kit has everything you need to complete the project including the wood wedges. I am very pleased with the results.

Great repair kit!
I recaned four chairs for a friend. This was my first experience with this DIY task. I followed the directions provided by the seller, supplemented by first viewing a how-to video on YouTube. All of the materials needed, with exception of glue, are in this kit. Three sizes of beading eliminate the guessing of what size your bezel groove is. By measurement of the bezel groove, I was waffling between 1/4" and 3/16" thickness. It was nice have both sizes in the kit.A caning chisel is a must, in your tool pouch, for this task. I tried to improvise but it did not go well in removing the debris of the old cane and glue. I stopped the project until I could get a caning chisel. The task of removing debris from the bezel groove is tedious but doable with a quality caning tool. I will not hesitate to take on this task again, should the need arise.
