Great and inexpensive dual action polisher for the car hobbyist
This is a great bit of kit to have in the tool chest, for the money you get a polisher with adjustable speed dial, a number of pads and a detachable side handle for left or right handed use. I didn't expect much in truth for the money, but having seen how good the results are on youtube and how much easier it is using one of these instead of hand polishing I thought I'd take the plunge and I don't regret it one little bit, already used it to compound and polish the cars bodywork and also used it to restore my cars headlights which had started to mist slightly and will be giving it a go on some windscreen scratches this coming weekend too.Overall very good value for money

Rupes bigfoot for a fraction of the cost
Bargain polisher but buy the correct pads.I do a bit of spray painting now and again and this polisher does the job really well but only if you buy the correct pads. There's 2 types of polisher, orbital or random orbital. Orbital polishers are much more aggressive machines than random orbit ones. Orbital polishers can burn paintwork and leave holographic swirls or even remove paint if the pad gets hot enough. This random orbit pokisher is less aggressive and won't burn paintwork but because of that you need much more aggressive pads. The leading brand for random orbit polishers is Rupes and the pads and compounds are called Sonax. The equivalent rupes polisher is called a bigfoot and it costs over £300. This polisher with a Rupes sonax pad and compound is just as good. In the photos is a mini tailgate I painted and you can see how the polisher brought up the finish on the black section after it was cut with 2500 wet and dry paper. Beautiful finish with no swirl marks and none of the problems associated with orbital polishers like catching an edge. The finsh you see in the final picture was achieved with a sonax red pad and a medium cut compound. It will look even better once I go over it with the yellow pad and finish cut compoundSo for a fraction of the cost you can have a rupes type polisher.I would have given this five stars but I'm having problems finding a 5" backing pad for it, I've bought four so far and none fit the thread so I need to try find out what the thread actually is and find the back plate to fit.Remember Farecla pads and compounds won't work properly with this machine, they're designed for orbital machines and the pads supplied with the machine are pretty useless. All in all a proper bargain

Works well for a low price
I used to buff out scratches and polish after I ran the car along a hedgerow. Worked very well, obviously you need to take it easy with the buffing compound but much quicker than by hand. The polishing with mop left a great shine.

Worth it
For the price, it works very well, came with 4 pads and not the 2 stated, also a sheep's wool buffing pad.Only downside, the screw in handle, it broke within 10 minutes, but the machines easier to use without. So no real issues worth getting for sure.

Stopped working after several hours use
I was really happy with the look and quality feel of the polisher when it arrived. However on the first use it was obvious that the polisher was quite heavy, especially if working at any height. It vibrated a lot and was very noisy. After about 2 hours of polishing and switching it off to change position, it wouldn’t switch on again! Checked the fuse and it was fine, but the polisher was totally dead.Thankfully it was still within the Amazon warranty and they refunded the cost with no issues.Maybe I just got a bad one, but on its performance I couldn’t recommend it.

Good value!
The foam pads that come with the machine are rubbish, the backing came off all of them on first use! But the machine does it’s job, the machine is quite loud, like an angle grinder. Long term use i obviously cannot say yet! But I would recommend but buy some good quality foam pads of different grades because if you rely on the ones provided you may not be able to complete the job!!
