long-term use not recommended
The usage directions say that, “This product is not intended for long-term use.” I almost didn’t order this bottle of Piping Rock Wormwood Capsules based on online searching detailing the risks and side effects associated with wormwood. But my curiosity was piqued by knowing a variety of wormwood is the active ingredient in the liqueur absinthe. And that absinthe, and its psychotropic attributes, was one of the topics in the first episode (Why the French Don’t Suck) of the Travel Channel series: Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations. That prompted me to try it a couple of times in bars, and I liked the licorice taste. But the anise taste in absinthe isn’t from the wormwood. This bottle of Piping Rock Wormwood Capsules comes with a plastic bottle-cap seal, and an inside bottle seal. I like that Piping Rock products have clear information about allergens they don’t contain. The capsules are smaller than average, and easy to swallow. I’m allergic to many things, so I’m always grateful when I try products I’ve received free for purposes of reviewing, that I don’t get an allergic reaction. I didn’t get an allergic reaction with these Piping Rock Wormwood Capsules. Please consider the risks and side effects before ordering this supplement. And please pay attention to the advice that long-term use is contraindicated.

Quality Wormwood from a Trusted Brand
The Piping Rock Wormwood Capsules contain 430mg of pure, dried Artemisia absinthium (commonly known as wormwood) per capsule, and contain 200 capsules that will last 200 days by taking one capsule a day. The capsules are, Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Preservative Free, Soy Free, and free from artificial colors.Wormwood has been traditionally used for its potential benefits to digestive health, and I have read that it can help eliminate parasites from the body. I cannot confirm this, but you may want to research the pros and cons of Wormwood. I know that I will be taking it sparingly and not for long term use. There are side effects in large doses, so you should look those up before starting on Wormwood. The Piping Rock brand has been around since 2011 and was formed by father and son who created the Nature's Bounty brand in1986. It's manufactured in the USA in a GMP facility, tested for purity, and they pledge to never use GMOs in their products. This is a quality Wormwood I am happy to have found.

Good source of wormwood
I originally got intereseted in wormwood when researching Absinthe. We went to a happy hour and had a drink containing Absinthe and I was surprised to learn that it was the genuine article. Apparently 10-15 years ago, real Absinthe became legal again. The "evil" ingredient was thought to be wormwood, which some said had psychedelic properties way back when (think Vincent Van Gogh). Anyway, modern research determined that there was no such effect, and Absinthe and now wormwood was back on the market.I do notice an improvement in my digestion when taking these. They are easy to take--tastesless, easy enough to swallow.

A GOOD HERB TO HAVE AROUND
If you looked at the picture above you can clearly see that I am a health nut and believe in supplements and natural medicine. The cleaner the supplement the better I like them. In another time, I was an RN. This supplement is not meant to be used on a regular basis but is great alone or in correspondence with other herbs for removing parasites from the body. It is concentrated and It is nice to have available in your home. I especially like that it has all the right certifications and I will look into this company for other supplements as well.

Good to have in your cabinet
Since wormwood is not something you can take regularly, I have only taking these a few days. I'm taking them to help with inflammation but, if there are parasites in my body, let them be killed. This is a good supplement to keep on hand. It's easy to ingest and I haven't had any serious, noticeable side effects in the few days I've taken them. I don't know what they would be like if I took them on an empty stomach as I have not done that because I take them with meals.
