WILL BE NEEDING THIS SOON ENOUGH
I have been learning Spanish for about two, maybe three years now, and I now spend more time in Spain than I do in the UK (and why wouldn't you?) and as the number of times increases that I have to visit the doctor I'm taking good care to read and absorb the vocabulary lessons therein. It's provides a comprehensive journey through doctors' treatment rooms and hospital A&E departments in the Spanish=speaking world and I'm sure it will be invaluable for me and my wife in the coming years of our retirement. It's a winner.

A Very Useful Book!
Having worked as a qualified specialised Nurse and speaking "conversational" spanish I felt it useful to learn medical terminology ...just-in-case.This wonderful little book offered much more than merely a rudimentary collection of words and phrases, like some. Being just as useful to the professional wishing to communicate with their hispanic patients, as it is for someone taken ill in one of the many spanish speaking countries - I certainly am more than happy to recommend this -Entonces, Leer y Disfrutar!!

Useful Spanish reading!
I found found that reading in Spanish is an enjoyable way to progress, and this book is extremely helpful in that respect. A bit technical in places, but it serves the purpose. Well written.

You don't need to be a medical professional to use this book.
During my recent visit to Spain I had to visit a medical centre to resolve a problem with my foot. No one spoke English and my understanding of Spanish was well below average. The consultation was undertaken using Google translate. I decided that to reduce any misunderstandings in future, I need to learn a few more medical terms that are not in the usual phrase books. This book fits that purpose. Thank you!

Medical Spanish with common Spanish phrases
Even though I’m not a medical professional , I found this book to be very helpful. At the beginning of the book, you are introduced to some basic Spanish vocabulary. Then, each subsequent chapter has short scenes involving medical situations in Spanish, followed by the English translation. Before each scene, a vocabulary list is supplied. It was really helpful for me to test myself by translating from either Spanish to English or vice versa. Except for the medical terms, you would use the Spanish learned here for everyday situations.

‘Ojos, Nariz, Boca, Hombros:’ eyes, nose, mouth, shoulders – Medical communication
Lingo Mastery continues with a new mission – to make Spanish more accessible to Healthcare Professionals. In the Introductory Note the goal is stated well: We’ve written this book with the intention of expanding your vocabulary in the Spanish tongue and allowing you to communicate with patients and colleagues within the magnificent world of healthcare! There are over 570 million Spanish speakers across the world…Spanish represents the second most popular language in the famously multicultural United States of America, In fact there are over 55 million Hispanic residents in the US…Being a healthcare professional has never been easy and sometimes it is a thankless job, but there is certainly nothing like seeing the satisfaction on a patient’s face as they recover from dire circumstances and learn to feel grateful with life and with modern medicine once more…this book has been created for anyone in the healthcare field…learning Spanish will certainly bring added value to your workplace, and it will open more doors for you as a specialist in what you do….We have written this particular book in a way that presents each lesson like a tool that you will pick up and make use of in your advancement through the challenge that is learning Spanish.’In a very accessible and insightful manner, the book addresses specific patient encounters and offers the language that will provide understanding for both the medical personnel and the patient - Getting to know the patient, Requesting information, Pediatric appointment, Ordering medicine, Surgery, Delivering bad news, Difficult patient, Keeping Somebody awake, Teaching a class (anatomy!), Discussions with colleagues, Offering counseling, Difficult conversation, Legal advice, Pregnancy confirmation, Childbirth, Appendicitis, Nutritionist appointment, Physiotherapist, Field medic, Comatose patient, Wild animal attack, Forensic testing, Imaginary illness, Death of a loved one, Reanimation, and Shocking discovery. Each topic is very well focused and gets to the point in a very warm and supportive manner. The technique is solid and the lessons well taught. This is a very fine addition for communication in Spanish appropriate for all medical professionals, and a book much needed at this time in our national status! Grady Harp, July 19

Not was I was looking for, still good!
This is a book with the basic terminology and mostly full of scenarios. Great for English speaking people who want to try and communicate better with their patients. I was looking for scenarios that would have the Doctor speaking English and the patient speaking Spanish since I was studying to be an interpreter. But this book is very cool because it has the scenario twice in two languages and you can just flip back and forth. Not for interpreters to study, but it could be very helpful to providers.

Very good and educational
I got it for my girlfriend who is a nurse, she can speak decent Spanish but can't communicate medical terms to them. This is helpful for her as she learns what to say to her patients.

Kindle Version - Very Useful and Could be Life-Saver
It is written for medical professionals who practice here but, in my case, it is a great reference as a potential patient when I live/travel in Spanish-speaking countries for the rest of my life. Absolutely necessary for anyone's Spanish study library, especially if there are any plans to travel extensively or live in Latin America.
