Great for watering indoor tree
I have an indoor tree that is quite heavy. When I go to water it, my husband takes it off its normal ceramic dish and puts it onto one of those clear big plastic ones. I then water the tree, and the clear dish catches the excess. I like to keep the dish relatively dry, though, so my tree isn’t just sitting in a big puddle all day (until my husband can help me move it back to its ceramic dish), so I use this to collect the water. I saw a YT video of someone doing the same thing, and this gadget works perfectly.

Too much force required to operate this.
The center piece (piston) had very excessive friction. Once the center piece (piston) got oil on it, it froze in place. It now takes an enormous force to get it to break free (move).
