space saving design, works really well
I normally carry a 700ml water bottle with me on the bike.I wanted to be able to carry a litre bottle. These are fairly tall and there is not enough clearance in the frame to fit a litre bottle down into the bottle holder. With this side loading bottle carrier the lack of up/down clearance problem is solved.The plastic is flexible enough to allow the bottle in and out easily but firm enough to hold the bottle in place while riding. I do not ride rough terrain so cannot comment on how well it would keep a bottle in place in extreme circumstances. But if a velcro loop is added by the concerned cyclist it should keep a bottle in place no matter what the riding style.

Decent little side entry cage.
Nice, cheap bottle cage. It comes in two sections, so can be unclipped and swapped from LH to RH and back again. Works fine, but it's quite constricted, so getting the bottle back in isn't that easy.

Seems okay
Seems okay and holds my bottle firmly, I suspect over time it won’t last too long as the plastic seems very rigid and could become brittle.

useless for a boardman 8.6
doesnt fit the frame and it didnt even come with mounting screws.i regret not getting a refund when i got it and found out it was useless as it doesnt fit my boardman 8.6 and it didnt come with any screws or bolts to mount it anyway, but i was busy at the time.dont buy this waste of space product.
