P.A.N.Sweet Corn Mix – Gluten Free Mixture for Cachapas (1.1 lb/Pack of 2)

This product is impossible to find locally, Which I find odd in Arizona with so much Central and South American cuisine in the area. It is perfect for both Columbian and Venezuelan style Arepas (delicious corn and cheese disks) and also works incredibly well to replace any cornmeal with. The touch of sweetness always sets this meal apart from the others and brings a delicate hint to corn breads and corn cakes and even cornmeal batters. The only negative, is the bags are only 1.1 pound. Would happily buy 5 pounds at a time

I was sad when my small bag of arepa de choclo mix was finished after returning from my trip to Colombia. So I tried to find the same brand online to no avail. Well, I came across this mix and searched for reviews and found this to be a Venezuelan brand that is used for the very same type of sweet corn mix...they just call it something else.I bought a few bags and made a large batch over Christmas to surprise my parents with. Was a big hit and this mix was actually much better tasting and easier to use than the Colombian brand I had. Go figure.You have to follow instructions precisely and the batter will be a perfect consistency. Cooking them properly, now that takes some skill people! I burned a few, but now got the process down and can make them perfectly on skillets. Similar to making pancakes. Have to time it so it is cooked through and gold brown on both sides.The entire house smelled incredible. I also bought some low sodium white mozzarella cheese to use as my white cheese you pair it with. Delicious!! The key to the cheese is to find a white cheese that is blander in taste not a lot of sodium, you want to pair that correctly. I chose Sorrento's low fat low sodium natural cheese block.This was great. Only thing is the expiration date was very close to the end, so I had to use up all the bags pretty quick and freeze everything. So be aware that you might need to use it up or store the mix to have it keep longer.Would purchase again and highly recommend this mix!

Good product

I received 3 small packages which is a good portion for small families. Its easy to make . The packages were intact. Good buy

It is much more expensive than getting it in one of the local shops but in order to avoid going out I ordered it online. It arrived on time. Packaged perfectly. Fresh and exactly what I expected.Will definitely purchase again if unable to go to the store or if unavailable.

Just a reminder that these are tiny. Delicious though!
