Raiseek Cleaning Mat, Pistol Gun Maintenance Mat,Anti-Slip Rubberized Repair Mat 15.9" x 9.8"

This was my first purchase of a cleaning mat for my pistols, so I had no expectations. If you haven't used one before like me, it is definitely something you should consider, particularly if your pistol has lots of parts like my 1911. The magnets and sections keep everything organized and manageable, just as advertised.After use, it is of course covered in oil and gun residue and whatnot. I spray it down with some degreaser/oven cleaner, let it soak for a couple minutes and it cleans up with ease. Basically looks about the same as it did when I first purchased.I included several pictures.1- The mat as delivered (note the dark stains on the top right green sections - these were there when first opened. A little disappointing, but has zero impact on functionality. If you were OCD it might bother, but for me not that big a big deal)2- Put a ballpiont pen on it to give some perspective on size3- The storage pouch provided - didn't expect this , but love it. I am an avid target shooter and I clean my firearms each time after I visit the range. I bought a Cerus gun mat a while back and I wasn't happy with it. It absorbed the cleaning chemicals instead of repelling them. I saw this Raiseek Cleaning Mat on Amazon and I bought it. I love the dividers on it to keep parts and tools from falling off the mat onto the floor. I love the magnet section that holds small metal parts from falling or moving and I love the fact that the cleaning chemicals do not get obsorbed into the mat and I can clean the surface easily without worry! I highly recommend this great product

As many have commented I wish this came in a larger size. I would certainly buy one. Though they give the exact size of the mat in the listing. If that size hinders its ability to function as it’s intended to function, I believe it’s legitimate to take some stars off for that.This is a really good mat and it’s very usable. It’s small size makes for good portability and it gives you options about where you can set it up, but having another larger option I think would be a really good idea. The built-in trays are somewhat well thought out and convenient and I love the little magnets on the corner. It keeps me really organized when I’m working on or cleaning my smaller pistols. Are use the trays and it saves time for hunting around for the little parts. Are used to just set them on the corner of a flat mat and they would get bumped around and I would spend minutes looking for them and I don’t have to do that with this thing.This would actually be a five-star product even with it being a little small if it weren’t for one thing: it gets dirty quickly, and it stains permanently. this is not simply a problem of aesthetic’s. You need to keep track of which stains are permanent and where are you actually have some solvent or gunk on the mat so you don’t transfer it to your gun. You cannot just add a glance look at the mat and know that it’s clean. It’s made to be cleaned and it has those nifty little loops so you can hang dry it but not all the stains come off of this thing and after a very short time it starts to look like the concrete floor under pneumatic lift at a garage.I will often use my mat to take pictures for Amazon reviews but I can’t really do it on this one because they all look nasty. I’m not exactly sure how to solve this problem. It’s made of rubber so if you drop CLP on it it’s going to bead up and stay on the surface until you wipe it down so while you’re using the mat you have to keep cleaning it. And then you find as you wipe certain things off, like gun powder and some carbon stains they leave residue that does not clean up. If they gave it some kind of a coating that coating would eventually wear off and leave you with the same problem. Coatings always wear off. So the only option I can think of is to use a different kind of material that’s less susceptible to staining or just make a black version of the mat. Of course that would make it harder to quickly locate small parts against that black backdrop. I don’t really know enough about rubbers and the kind of materials they would use. Presumably they make a stainless rubber?So that’s why it only gets four stars but I love the mat. It has a perfect texture. It’s firm enough to make work easy but soft enough that I don’t worry about damaging any of the equipment and parts I am working on. And the magnets are very strong. Even if you picked it up with some small screws on there they would probably hold.I’ve cleaned it with soap and water and alcohol I’m not really sure what other cleaners that I could use and what would damage the mat. There doesn’t seem to be any instructions for that. But the pictures show the mat right after I rinsed it down and wiped it off with alcohol. And the staining is not bad but it clearly doesn’t look clean and this mat is only two days in use.Perhaps the dark blue version shows less grime and gunk.

I would use towels to work on guns, electronics, sharpening knives, etc. The towels worked but with these mats are a game changer. Easy to clean off, easy to put up and store and the little neon parts have magnets in them and that holds all your screws, springs and stuff. I love this thing.I have this one and the larger one too.
