Just what I was looking for
I have purchased an IPL hair removal device and I knew I needed eye protection. These glasses are very effective into providing that kind of protection.

Sturdy
I use it at work and i like it a lot. It is more sturdy than the one they provide for people to use. I recommend this one considering I had to return a different brand laser googles. This one is built with high quality.

No longer blinded by plant lights
I have used these under high intensity plant lights. The lights are mainly red spectrum. Unfiltered, the lights hurt my eyes. These glasses do a good job reducing the brightness. I haven't had to CV lean the lenses yet, but would recommend being gentle so as not to leave scratches. The frames are snug. If you get a hold of dark glasses issued after cataract surgery, the frames are similar. They feel like they could break easily. The frames appear bulky but that's because they try to seal light out from around the edges. For me they work. Read the specs in the description area to make sure they apply to your situation.

LaserPair continues to deliver quality products at an affordable price
I've purchased two pairs of LaserPair laser safety glasses in the past (for actual lasers), so when I needed a pair of wide-spectrum safety glasses for IPL, I decided to go with the brand I already trusted. LaserPair is one of the very few budget brands that you can trust your eyesight to when it comes to laser safety glasses, and they have created yet another quality product here. Doing at-home IPL without quality safety glasses is a recipe for disaster when it comes to your eyes' health, and these safety glasses will filter out almost all of the harmfully bright wide-spectrum light from an IPL device. It's difficult to balance OD rating with the ability to see, and LaserPair seems to have erred on the side of caution, as these glasses do filter out enough light to make it a bit difficult to see fine details, but you can still see things through them, and they do an excellent job of protecting your eyes.

... nervous about purchasing this because it didn't have the best reviews and it wasn't cheap
I was nervous about purchasing this because it didn't have the best reviews and it wasn't cheap. However, compared to every other option out there, it was one of the few in my price range. I got it for the use of an at home facial laser remover, and have a strong laser light that on my first attempt definitely hurt my eyes. Now, with using this I no longer experience discomfort, even though you can obviously still see the laser. Also, I was worried that I'd have a hard time using it with my smaller face. Now even though it's definitely large, it fits perfectly on my nose and doesn't go anywhere. I don't have a single complaint so far.

These Seem to Work OK Over Glasses...But Have Gaps That Let Light In...Also the Case is Too Small & Doesn't Close
I got these to wear over my glasses when I use a small red and blue led light on my face to self-treat acne. These glasses work OK for that. I don't know for sure because I haven't spent a ton of time researching them to see if these glasses actually do protect against those kind of lights...which are LED...but it seems like probably they do. The reason I don't know more is because I don't know exactly how or what I should research. They seem to protect in most situations though...so U figure they are better than nothing.Nothing was my only alternative really. Because I need to see where I'm applying the light...the little blocking sets that you use for tanning beds won't work. One set like that came with an led light that I bought you actually CAN see through...but they don't work over glasses which I need because I'm really blind!So...there seemed to be no alternative for me. These are a relatively expensive alternative versus nothing. If they weren't so expensive I'd get a second pair for traveling. But they cost too much for that...especially with the gapping problem that lets in light. I sort of block the gap with my hand. Also, that reminds me about one thing that I really DON'T LIKE about these glasses...the case that they came with. It's too small and I can't zip it all the way closed. Although it was zipped closed when they arrived...I can't do it. So these wouldn't even be great for traveling.Which leads me to wonder why there aren't more options available. So if anyone knows of something else that may work better...or that has a case that closes. Please reply to my review and let me know! My research to date hasn't unearthed any good alternatives.
