Handcast turned out great!
Me and my mum put together to buy a kit for Christmas. I was very nervous about messing it up but it was really easy and looks good! The cast has picked up a lot of details such as the creases in the knuckles, my thumb ring and the veins on the back of our hands. It has created a lovely keepsake and it was fun to do!Few bits of advice:- practice your pose with an empty bucket.- the plaster won't fit in your average jug so use a mixing bowl.- Mixing is messy so wear an apron and put some newspaper down on your counters.- have some water ready to wash the alginate off your whisk, but do it quickly because it sets fast in the bucket and you need to position your hands whilst it's still liquid.- raise the bucket onto a chair or table so your comfortable as you wait for the alginate to set. It took about 3-4 minutes for it to start solidifying and about 8 minutes till it was ready.- Try stay still but you do have a small window at the start where you can reposition if needed. We noticed we weren't in deep enough so had to move. Because it was still liquid we got away with it.- Don't be concerned if it looks a bit messy inside once you've pulled your hand out. I was worried we'd disturbed it too much and ruined it but it was fine.- when ready, pour a little bit of plaster in first and swill the bucket around so it gets into all the crevices. Keep adding a little and swilling.- once the plaster is set and you need to tip the cast upside down to get it out of the bucket, have a towel underneath as we had some water come out.Good luck!

Fantastic!! Not as bad as it might look at first!
I'd like to start by saying that the end product is not how it came out. I put a lot of time and effort into completing it.This is very easy to use. I watched a few YouTube videos to make sure I got it right. This was for my poorly dog and I as I don't know how long he has left. (He has a never-before-seen bone disease. And bowel disease/ruptured tendon due to the steroids used to treat his condition)And so you can imagine how much more difficult it is to keep a dog still than just your own hands going in.I will say though, I wish I'd not used cold water from the tap as it took about 10 minutes to set and my back was killing haha. Had honey on a lickimat to keep him distracted.I recommend applying some sort of release to your hands and paw to make it easier to get yourselves out. I didn't and so when my dogs paw came out, some of the cast came with him.If yours comes out with balls all over it, don't worry! That's from the bubbles you've created during mixing and no fault of the product. You can gently knock them off. I used a scalpel. And if there are any holes, crumble up some leftover product and gently but firmly press it in there and rub away the excess until it looks flush.I used Citadel Warhammer paints and Nuln Oil to give our cast a metallic oil. They're about £3-4 each and dry incredibly fast.I'm very pleased with my casting and plan to attach it to a base to keep safe.

One small pot one mighty gesture
I purchased this originally for my Dog in his last moments with me but unfortunately we didn’t get to use it. However, my sister wanted one for Christmas and never received one from Santa so I gave it to her. She said it was easy to use, set fast and wasn’t finicky either, she is super chuffed with the end result. Well worth the pennies paid

Quailty fun time at home 🤭
Excellent time off with your fav person. We didn't do it for 6 months due to stuff, but when we did it was quality. Just follow the instructions and you can't go wrong.

Amazing
Wasn’t sure about how this would turn out but it was perfect, a few bits needed some attention once dry but overall easy to follow instructions which give a great product, this was for us but would make super gift, you can paint but we left it white and painted the wedding ring, very detailed with all markings on the hands, very lifelike.

Ok for the price, tops of fingers and nails missing
Ok for the price, tops of my fingers and nails were missing, I was very careful removing my hand. Also had trouble where our rings were it pulled a chunk of the mold off with it when removing hands; lots of bubbles and a few holes here and there too. Will try and fix my fingers. Hopefully will look ok.

Amazing detail!
Very impressed with this kit. I thought it would be difficult but it was much easier than I expected. We mixed the alginate with an electric whisk to get it smooth (it smelled like strawberry angel delight!) and made sure we had a comfortable position for putting our hands in. Due to using very cold water it took 15 minutes to set!I was very worried about my ring breaking the mould so wiggled my hand free very carefully. With the plaster we poured in a small amount and swirled it around to avoid air pockets then topped it up. After 4 hours we couldn't get it out the bucket so had to slice off an edge to release. It did have tiny bobbles on the cast from bubbles in the mould but these scraped off very easily with a craft knife.Overall I was very pleased with how it turned out and the level of detail is incredible. You can see every fingerprint and line. Absolutely recommend.
