I thought about rating this Bible 4-Stars....
This is a review for the Thomas Nelson NKJV Giant Print Center-Column Reference Bible with a brown Leathersoft cover (ISBN 978-0785217756). This is NOT the Deluxe version. I was thinking about giving this Bible a 4-Star rating for the following reasons: The Bible has a glued binding (instead of sewn) and many of the pages were stuck together at the top outside corner due to a less than perfect job of page edge gilding. The excessive "gold" gilding actually sort of "glued" the pages together right at the tip of the corner. But then I reconsidered. A sewn binding is a lot to ask for a Bible costing less than $16.00; and working carefully and slowly, I was able to successfully separate the "glued" pages, without damaging them, by sliding a butter knife between them. It took me a while--I had to separate several hundred pages--but all's well that ends well. All in all, this Bible is a very good value. Considering the cost, I am very impressed with its quality. It feels very much like real leather, but it doesn't look real ,however, because the color is just too uniform. It is quite flexible, it lays flat when opened, and it feels good in the hand. And it's not too big to be portable. The quality features are numerous. The pages are thin but opaque and the "line-match" printing all but eliminates show-through from the other side of the page. The Comfort Print is sharp and clear and the giant (13.5 point) print makes this Bible quite easy to read--even when using aging eyes like mine. The center column references (over 70,000 of them!) are quite extensive and include all of the translators' notes as well. Here are a few "cons" (but perhaps you will not see them as such): I wish this Bible used verse-by-verse formatting (I guess that's a result of spending so many years with the old King James version), but, alas, the formatting is paragraph style. For me, verse-by-verse formatting makes Scripture lookup easier since all the verse numbers appear at the left margin. But verse-by-verse formatted Bibles are getting harder and harder to find (except in the KJV). I'm told that printers prefer using paragraph formatting as it conserves paper. I also prefer black letter Bibles. I don't need some publisher telling me when the Lord is speaking. I can make that determination for myself. But this Bible shows the words of Christ in red. Nowadays black letter Bibles, like verse-by-verse formatted Bibles, are few and far between. At least the red printing in this Bible is consistently dark and clear--more of a maroon color than a bright red. Not bad for a red letter Bible. And finally, like most Bibles today, the paragraph formatting and narrow margins provide precious little space for note taking. This Bible includes short (but helpful) book introductions, a small basic concordance, and the standard set of Nelson full color Bible maps. There is no "Family Records" section, but there is a presentation page inside the front cover. All things considered, this is a pretty darn nice Bible. And when you consider the fact that you can pick one up BRAND NEW for a measly SIXTEEN BUCKS, it becomes an incredible bargain! And if you only exercise reasonable care with this Bible, I'm sure it will last many years. 5-Stars for sure!

Great Bible for Easy Reading and Studying
I’m very pleased with the NKJV Holy Bible, Giant Print Center-Column Reference Bible in brown Leathersoft. The cover feels soft and durable, which makes it a joy to hold. The text size is perfect for anyone with weak eyes—although the size seems closer to 12-point rather than the stated 13.5-point, it’s still easy to read and very comfortable. The center-column reference layout is a great feature, and I find the references to be legible, even with the smaller text. The paper quality is solid, and the red-letter edition for Christ's words adds a nice touch. The book introductions at the start of each book are a nice bonus. The thumb indexes are also a great addition, making it much easier to navigate the Bible quickly. One suggestion would be to separate the footnotes from the cross-references and place them at the bottom of the page with a divider line for easier reading. Overall, it's a great Bible and definitely worth the purchase for those who need a larger print with an accessible layout.

Reminiscent of the “old days” quality bibles
This is a beautiful leatherflex cover BOLD comfort print bible. According to their website “all Thomas Nelson Bibles that have been produced since 2017 with a retail price of $10 or more are sewn binding”. I got this at a sale price and it is a remarkably excellent product. It is printed in South Korea (not in China!) so the paper quality is so much better than most other bibles. The layout is excellent even though I prefer verse by verse, this Bible is easy to handle and to study from because Thomas Nelson employed paragraph form layout and giant print. The cross references are so clear. I am so pleased with this product.

Perfect for Tired Old Eyes
A very nicely made Bible with a genuine large print that helps tired eyes read effortlessly. The center column reference is easy and intuitive to use. There are a lot of Bibles that claim to have large print but they are comparing to standard Bible publishing standards in which the average print is much smaller than the text in magazines and newspapers. This Giant Print edition is the answer and it comes with a smooth soft cover that makes handling much easier, faster and pleasant than hard covered Bibles.

Nice
Considering the price, it's a great Bible to have. At my age, i love the large print -- no longer have to wear readers to read my Bible. I've always hated maroon bible covers so I recovered it using colored duct tape. Why is this such a standard KJV color. Why can't someone make a KJV bible that isn't maroon, black or brown? If this had a camo cover, i would've been thrilled.
