QUEENS ASSASSIN
S**A
This is the story about The Queen and her Assassin
I completed the book a week ago. And I would say this is the best fantasy novel I read in recent months. The plot, characters, book cover, the cliffhanger what not, everything about this book is beautifully done.It was not my most anticipated book to read but when I picked it up from library, I’m so intrigued by it that I wanted to read the second I took it.Now I read it and here I’m with a very happy review about the book.🍷Plot:Cal the queen’s assassin should find some scrolls which consist of magical history of Avantine, then only he can fulfill the oath his father took before the queen and can live his life free.Until then he is bound to the queen and the kingdom as queen’s assassin.Shadow a witch who lives with her aunts in a farm wants to be a assassin as Cal, goes on a secret mission with cal. They both goes to a enemy kingdom to find out the secrets about Aphrasians who are enemies to Renovia kingdom and wants to rule it.In their mission, Shadow is hiding her biggest secret from Cal, what happens when Cal finds out her biggest secret and will they kill their feelings for each other and stay on mission to save the princess When the biggest enemy is coming for their princess. To know about that go ahead read The Queen’s Assassin.🍷This book has some background story which happened in the past and explained in bits, even though they are bits and parts they’re really explained very well that I can really understand what has happened in the history. Which you won’t find it in the other books actually. This part is what I love most about the book.🍷I guessed some parts of the secrets but I was still stunned how the author bring those scenes to life.🍷The author created whole different dynasty here. The ending is epic, the way author revealed secrets is exceptional. And the very last line of the very last chapter which is epilogue and it says “known in history as the Queen’s Secret.” is gripped me like anything.🍷

interesting read!
The Queen’s Assassin is about this girl named Shadow who is thrown together with the Queen’s Assassin Caledon Holt in a quest to get back the missing Deian Scrolls, the fount of all magical history and knowledge, stolen years ago by a nefarious sect called the Aphrasians. Now, I think this was a well-paced story for I read it in just 2 days (2 sittings to be specific). The adventure aspect was good, and as for the progress of the plotline, except a few plotholes, I think the author did a good job.The character development is also good in terms of Caledon Holt. He is shown as this really revered and talented assassin who is great at what he does – he is the best really. But in terms of his feelings, that side is explored more as the story progresses. As for Shadow, her character is not shed much light on to be honest. I found that her character is pretty much the same and her development is slight compared to Caledon. However, in terms of the narrative, the writing style was weird. I like that in case of Shadow, the narrative was in first person. But there is a complete change when it comes to Caledon’s. It is in third person and the tense is present perfect and the constant change got on my nerve. The mystery also feel predictive to me regarding the real identities of certain characters (not giving any spoilers!) Therefore, I was not very surprised when it is revealed.Towards the end, there were certain plot holes and some bits were just wrapped up conveniently I think. Certain facts were just very contradictory and I feel that that the author tried to pull a psychological sort of hit at the end. That is not to say that I am not excited for the sequel – I very much am. I am eager to see where the story goes because I really ship Caledon and Shadow and I hope they get the ending they deserve, despite the cliffhanger that the author left us on.It was a good read and I rated it 3/5 stars.

It was not what I expected.
It was not what I expected.I was expecting a book filled with adventure, mystery, political rivalry and what not but it turned out to be a typical historical fiction romance.I'm not saying it's bad but the whole book is like that. You could read two lovers in making bickering all the time and just trying to figure something out which is well not at all hidden.I liked the ending as it provided me with a twist that I was not hoping for.You could skip half of the book or just jump to so called climax and nothing will change, you didn't miss anything. The characters were well kinda childish and understood as they are in their teens but as the book is a fantasy thriller I was expecting more.I see this is going to be a series but I'm not sure if I want to read any further. Maybe will read only to know the ending of Shadow and Cal.

I loved Shadow and Cal
I really enjoyed reading The Queen's Assassin and I find myself reading it multiple times, but I will say it did take me longer than most books to finish, but that was mostly because I was always busy. I found Shadow smart and enjoyable to read about, and I admired Caledon's bravery to speak about what his father promised the queen, while they were in that cave. Their bond is unique, but I loved that part of it. I would recommend reading it, and I can't wait to read the second one. 5/5

„He is everything I never knew I always wanted.“

Wow, that ending!
That ending was so much more than I expected! After the king dies in battle, his best friend makes a bonding vow with the queen to protect her and the royal heir, as well as search for the magical documents and sacred scrolls that have been missing. He has pledged his life and his heir’s life to the queen until the scrolls are found and returned. Eighteen years later, we meet Shadow and Caledon Holt (he’s the best friend’s son, the kingdom’s deadliest weapon and the Queen’s assassin). Shadow is exploring around the Abbey when Caledon saves her life by killing her would-be assassin. The bad thing is that the man Caledon kills is the queen’s brother-in-law, Prince Alast. Alast proves himself a traitor, which is shocking to Caledon. The Queen sends Caledon to Deersia Prison to appease the public and keep the traitorous evidence secret. She wants Caledon to spy and find out where the traitors stem from. Shadow catches a ride to Deersia prison as a stowaway and finds Cal and helps him escape. They move onto Montrice to discover if there’s a spy conspiring against their kingdom and Queen. Shadow and Cal are fun, dynamic characters that work together well but drive each other crazy too. I enjoyed the humor in this book as well as the intrigue and magic. The ending left me ready to read the sequel! 5 stars!

Really enjoyed it
I was agreeably surprised but this book. I wasn't expecting much when I first started to read as it was really slow but the plot was amazing.I really liked the romance as well and there was a few laughable moments. It's nice to see a strong female character.
