DON'T HAVE THIS IN YOUR STONES COLLECTION? YOU'RE MISSING A GREAT CD -- TRUST ME !
Keith and Mick continue to write songs and choruses that will stick to you like a wool sweater worn in a sauna. Some critics hate these latter-year Rolling Stones' albums because the songs therein lack the Jagger-Richard partnership's earlier heavyweight efforts such as, 'Sympathy For The Devil', 'Gimme Shelter', or 'Let It Bleed'.True, perhaps. Yet, in fairness, don't forget that the 1960s-70s added many a battleships' tonnage to the entire Rolling Stones and Beatles library of work because of all the turbulent history attached to each song for those of us who lived through those crazy times, good and bad. Given that, I could sing, from memory, most every song that both groups released in that time. I can't say the same today. Marriage, parenthood, and a 30-year career suck the well of memory for such things bone-dry, not to mention the fact that I am now 57, not 17."Voodoo Lounge"? No, I can't sing it's songs without its lyrics on a large-print cheat-sheet, but I still love this record!Among many hook-laden tunes on this album are: 'Love is Strong', 'Out of Tears', 'You Got Me Rocking', 'Sparks Will Fly', plus the two Keith Richards' ballads, namely, 'The Worst' and 'Thru and Thru', along with, at least the addition of the 'I Go Wild', 'Suck on the Jugular', 'Brand New Car' and 'Blinded by Rainbows'. That last title seems silly, I grant you, but the song gets you, regardless. As a witness to every Stones' U.S. tour between 1975-99, including the "Voodoo Lounge" 1994 shows, I can say first-hand that all of the new songs performed during each of these concerts were received with great enthusiasm by audiences that numbered from 60-80,000 cheering and dancing fans who were kind enough to attend those shows, along with my late brother, Richard, and me. In fact, those concerts in particular rank amongst the most pleasant memories that I have. One critic's lengthy damnation of "Voodoo Lounge" herein loses all credibility whatsoever when, after much bombast, the writer admits to the whole Amazon world that, "I also wanted to give this album a chance, as I was 'out of it' in the summer of (19)94...".To that I can only add, thanks for the clarification of your poor state... Too bad that you've missed a great time in the process!

Excellent CD, buy it.
I saw the Stones and the Meadowlands Arena in Jersey in 1994 for this tour and it was sensational. CD has great songs.

"I go wild"
This is a very under-appreciated album. It's a strong album from start to finish. Some of the songs include; Love Is Strong, good strong rocker "you make me hard, you make me weak", The Worst, Keith takes lead here, great song. That is followed up by a very melodic ballad called New Faces, I think I hear some harpsichord here, perhaps it's steel guitar, well done. Out Of Tears is a slower-paced cut, Mick can't cry over lost love anymore because he's "Out Of Tears". I Go Wild is a great rocker with some great lyrics, "and politicians Garrish wives with alcoholic *unts like knives", I know a LOT of politician's wives that would fit this well.

And the tape version was like being there all over again
Have the tape version that has a totally different beginning than this CD. Kind of a dissapointment, as saw the Stones live VOODOO Lounge concert. And the tape version was like being there all over again, so this CD is leaving me wanting.

Ignoring the Stones 94 release then, means I get a great new album in 2015
Wow, I ignored this album when it first came out. As a matter of fact, I ignored all their albums from 89 to 97 even though those were the three shows that I saw live. Now I am realizing that I made a big mistake in ignoring Steel Wheels, And Voodoo Lounge. Next up for me will Be Bridges to Babylon. Oh well Better Late than Never! I have new album to groove too before they play here in Dallas in June.Hey it's like I am getting brand new Stones albums, and how cool is that!My favorites on this one are, Love is Strong, You Got Me Rocking, Moon is Up, Out of Tears, Brand New Car.

Nice sound I always liked this album since inception
The only doubt I have is if in previous editions in vinyl format was included “Mean Disposition”. That is the last track on the CD. Anyone knows? The sound in this edition is really nice. I never had a previous edition to compare, I bought it because I did not have the LP. Cheers!!
