Perfect for babies - just turn the water on lowest flow for little ones
My 8 month old absolutely loves this backyard pool. We've been using it for about 5 weeks on weekends, starting in early May. It took some check & adjust period to get the water pressure perfect for the baby - but the key for the little ones is to let the water flow in as slowly as possible. It will take some time, but it will fill up the rim and then will get the water to sprinkle/trickle below their head level. If you turn the water on at full blast, it will have a stronger stream and will go above their head, which can then fall on their head and may deter them from having fun (I'd imagine full blast is the way to go for the older ones though). On our first try, we turned the water on full blast and immediately went in (it fits two adults and a baby - doesn't leave room for much else but we can fit :)) Baby was intrigued but started to shiver (it was close to 90 degrees out, but water was freezing) so it cut our playtime short. On our second try, we let the water trickle in slowly and then allowed some time for water to gather in the pool and warm up before putting the baby in the pool. This combo made for a longer play, and he even spent some time trying to "catch" the water stream with his fingers since it wasn't so intimidating. The graphics are cute. Baby enjoys identifying animals (his favorite is the monkey - goes right for it when i ask where the monkey is) - there's no frill - nothing to pump up and no knobs to turn on the pool itself (and if you are thinking that you can inflate the pool and then fill the water without the streaming thing - you can't. The rim has holes in them and gets "inflated" only with water. You will need constant flow of water so may not be a good choice if you don't have access to flowing water with a garden hose).---------I rated this item: Five Stars*Stars on this review is based on my subjective answer to the question, “after having the first-hand knowledge of the product from use (and/or seeing the product in person), would I buy this item again if I went back in time?”(5) Would absolutely buy again (4) May or may not buy again (3) probably won’t buy again (unless features improved) (2) most likely won’t buy again (unless no other option exists) (1) definitely won’t buy again/would not use even if it was free

Perfect for our one year old!
I read many reviews for splash pads and this one by Obuby had the most positive reviews by far. At first i was simply looking for a baby pool for our 11 month old but i wasn't finding many options. There were, however, tons of options for splash pads. I was hesitant whether or not the water height would even be tall enough for our little one to enjoy, but it turned out to be the perfect height once inflated and full of water. The water covered her thighs while she was sitting on her bottom and there was plenty of water to wade around in while crawling on her knees. The 60'' diameter was more than enough room for one child and I, her mom, was even able to sit comfortably in there with her while still having enough room to play. I was concerned about needing to have the hose continuously running, but it didn't end up being a worry at all. You can adjust the water pressure to raise and lower the height of the sprinkler which can leave the hose running at just a trickle if you so desire. We kept the sprinkler turned very low so our daughter was constantly being sprayed with water from the sprinkler and was able to play in the stream when we kept low at her height. The material seems very durable. i never had any concern that it would rip while setting it up, taking it down or cleaning it. One reviewer mentioned that water would leak from the connection where the hose attaches to the pad. We had this same problem until we used the gasket adapter that comes included in the box. We didn't use the adapter originally because the hose screwed in to the pad just fine without it. However, when the connection started leaking we tried the included adapter and problem solved! The product is definitely designed to be used with the "waterproof adapter". Lastly, the "Alphabet Animals" pattern was a big hit! Our daughter loved pointing out the different animals while playing. Overall, I was very happy with this purchase. The splash pad was her favorite activity of the summer by far! Would definitely recommend!
