Quality cast iron pot, right size and inexpensive
My wife was a bit hesitant before buying this pot, some reviews were not great - but she was happy she went for it.Turned out the pot is excellent, cast iron quality very good, and so is the lid - no cracks or any other issues with it.Food presented in the pot looks beautiful and makes it very special.Remember - this is cast iron so you need to take care of it properly, season with oil and dry on heat after cleaning.Recommended!

Excellent for price. Good asthetic
Had this pot a while now.. love its look, love the lid, food always tastes good in it.Mostly use it on the woodburner - great for stove.top rice pudding, or slow simmered stews.I season it a couple times.a year as i do wash it with water now nthen - if dont season get tiny black discolouration of food left in it over night where it touches pot.Two drawbacks :1. Handles : why they plasti.coated ? Melts off a little - especily if outside over fire. This means i havent used it in oven.Even with cheap.price, seems to cheapen the item.2. Rough inside - cant dry with a paper towel. That's fine considering price.

How to clean and avoid rust
I bought this pot a long time ago and have since read reviews about how bad it is for rusting so I thought I would provide a few tips on preserving this pot. It is an excellent cast iron pot but it needs to be looked after. You cannot wash it and leave it to dry without seasoning. To season and wash: 1. Wash it with ( not in) a little water with a light scrubbing using a natural brush. 2. Dry it well with a linen or cotton flat weave lint free towel. 3. Put a teaspoon of veg or corn oil into it and rub it around with a lint free cloth. Turn heat to medium and when you see the oil slightly smoking turn off heat and let cool. 4. Wipe off excess oil and store separately from other pots. Note: Do not use olive oil on cast iron pots or pans. Do not use lid while cooking. The lid is for putting on to keep hot after cooking. Repeat 1-4 every time you use this pan and it will serve you well. Hope this helps.

Rough inside means food and cleaning is a chore
I've only used this once but cleaning it is a PAIN. The rough inside surface leaves room for grime to catch easily. If you want to use paper towel to season it after, this will also flake off. It's very sturdy and retains heat well, but it's not the best option for hot pot.

Cracks in lid
Aften been used this pot twice, ot has a large crack in the llid. Sothis is how the lid looks. It os a shame as the pot is verry good to cock in and have a great sice but be course of tje lid I do not find it particular satisfying. And do therefore not recomend it.

Not as good quality as Japanese product
Was very impressed initially but once I used it I was disappointed that the wooden top split in two areas. Because of the handle it’s still together though. Top does get tight and stuck if cooking something that creates steam
