If I have ever seen a bread box in person at a retail store, I must not remember it, or no one really carries these anymore. I was tired of having various bread and bread like items scattered across my counters. We had been putting the bread in the microwave as a temporary solution to get it out of the way, but that is such a hassle when you need to use the microwave.So I bought a dedicated bread box! The door slides up and down very easily, it can fit 1 loaf of bread with various other breads as well. The brushed silver really compliments my kitchen set up of black and black and silver appliances.

This bread box is nice and roomy. It is very light weight which is good on one hand - but do not bump or drop. First box we received was properly packaged but dented on side and top. Use carefully - but definitely roomy and attract.

I purchased the Polder Deluxe Stainless Steel Bread Box because it is just one of those products that I grew up with. We always had a bread box when I was younger. I always looked forward to seeing what my Mother had baked or bought for us to eat.I have a cook island in my kitchen now and I thought well why not see if they still make bread boxes. When I started looking on Amazon, there it was a beautiful Stainless Steel Bread box. I bought it hopng it would be of a nice quality and I was not disappointed at all.This bread box is a hit with everyone who comes into my kitchen. We then start talking about when they were younger and a bread box was in their kitchens also. A lot of memories.I love the Stainless Steel look, it opens very easily and stays up until I pull it down. Some bread boxes I looked at, would get stuck or were so flimsey that the bread box would move. I can put two large loaves of bread in it and also muffins, cookies, etc. and yes my grandchildren are checking the bread box as soon as they hit the kitchen.Very good purchase and now it is a conversation piece. It came all ready assembled and that is what I like. I did wipe it down and then put it on the counter top. Very easy.....

I received one that had been bent on the side and the door wouldn't slide closed. I submitted a damage claim on Amazon and they sent me a replacement immediately as well as a return shipping label for the damaged item. They didn't charge my card a second time for the replacement, I had only to return the damaged one within 30 days or they would have. That was more than fair and I love that this closes by weighted door verses some sort of magnet or catch. Nothing to go wrong with this one! It's very sleek and is exactly as pictured. I would absolutely buy this item again.

I can't comment on how this bread box works over time because ours was delivered with one side dented in severely - making it unusable. We are returning it for a refund rather than replacement because it is so small and lightweight. We had read many reviews of these (several companies sell bread boxes that are very similar - if not identical). Even though we had read that these are made of very thin, lightweight metal, we were surprised at how thin and lightweight this feels - almost like a large empty aluminum soda can (I'm sure it is somewhat stronger - but that's the impression you get when you pick it up). I think they need to ship these in much stronger boxes, because anything that could bend the shipping box (a drop, having stuff stacked on it, etc.) will probably also bend the bread box. Our shipping box looked good, but upon closer examination, it had been slightly bent in on one end - which was enough to ruin the bread box. Also, this is a little smaller than we were expecting. I put in one relatively small loaf of bread, and a bag of bagels, and that pretty much maxed it out. It would probably hold two loaves of bread okay, but not much else. We were hoping it would hold a couple of loaves of bread plus a bag of bagels and/or English muffins, etc. If someone made a similar bread box out of heavier metal, and about 30% larger, we would happily pay twice the price for it.

I love my new bread box it's big inside . Two breads can fit inside . The outside doesn't show finger marks cleans nice no water spots after drying.

Do Not Order this item!! Misleading photo and had a huge dent in the back and wobbled on the countertop. Very cheaply made. They must of sent me the wrong product, as it is different than the one in the photo. Very, very cheap!! Do not order this item! I am sending it back and not ordering from then again. I read reviews after reviews trying to buy the best product, and I should have guessed that mine would also come dented and wobbly. They need to fix the denting problems that they are having, as it seems like everyone who writes a review has ordered any bread box from them, and are dented and cheap. So spend your money somewhere else if you want anything nice, because this isn't the place to buy anything like that. It's like a $ 40.00 pop can. No thanks!
